The mind boggles when people yearn for the city life, the hustle and bustle of a busy town, the unlimited and endless things you can do. I however, am completely, 100% all about switching off and being away from it all. There’s something pretty special about being able to get out in nature and strip back everything and just get back to basics. I learnt a lot about myself when we visited the North Star Club in 2017 and how I think I’d be pretty happy in my own little hut in the middle of a forest. So, if you’re anything like me and crave the wilderness over anything else, here are 5 off the grid retreats in the UK you need to know about!
I am Yorkshire, through and through. This place makes my heart sing. With gorgeous scenery from the Dales to the Moors, with vibrant, cosmopolitan cities such as Leeds & York. Even the lesser known beauties such as Ilkey Moor, Wakefield Sculpture Park and more. There is without a doubt something to tickle everyone’s fancy. Growing up we spent a lot of time in our caravan in a little place called, Sowerby which is just up the road from Bridlington. We’d spend days heading to Whitby, Filey and Flamborough Head and getting ice-cream drunk and eating fresh fish & chips. The simplicity of it all is exactly what I love about holidaying here in the UK!
It’s the 1st of August which means one thing & one thing only. IT’S YORKSHIRE DAY BISHES! I’m a proud Notherner and always have been, but I’m even more prouder that I have been born and bred in the most picturesque County of them all, Yorkshire. Bed Guru asked me to get snapping with a brand new Instax Polaroid to capture some of my favourite spots in & around Yorkshire so this last week I’ve been a busy Bee collecting some perfect polaroids for the #MyYorkshirePhoto campaign!

Oh, the Seaside. One of my favourite places to be. The sights of the blue ocean, the sounds of waves lapping against the shore and the seagulls squarking, to the smells of fish and chips and the real proper doughnuts you can get. There is nothing quite like it and wish I could be nearer to the coast (or alternatively another beach destination? I’m not fussy, Kefalonia, Italy, I’ll take it.) So when we took an impromptu trip to the Yorkshire Coast a couple of Saturday’s ago I was a giddy, little kipper.
