When you live somewhere for a long time you very rarely look past what meets the eye. You take things for granted and don’t see for what it is worth. This weekend proved that despite our local town being a ‘’same old, same old’’ kind of place we were wowed with the Wetherby Food Festival this past weekend. And as soon as someone mentions food, I am there.

So on Sunday afternoon we found ourselves heading down to the Ings by the river to experience some culinary delights and get our senses lusting after food that we don’t normally get to try! Cue photo overload.

First things first, we had to wet our alcoholic appetite and we were not dissapointed with the amount of drinks stalls availabe. As much as I love prosecco I really fancied trying some locally made raspberry cider. I can’t say I was overly overjoyed with my choice as it was extremely tart and still tasted like pear cider. I expected it to be like a mixed fruit type of cider. Clearly not.

Despite the terrible choice in beverage it was time to have a look round and see what food was on offer. I have a penchant for filling my stomach & I enjoy good food. Hence the gut that you may see in a few photos time. I am determined to go on a health kick so what better way than to spend my last Sunday as a ‘’free eating woman?’’

Who doesn’t love a good old, restored, vintage caravan? Hands down. THIS is my ultimate dream. I would just adore the chance of being able to restore my own caravan and create a pop up cafe from time to time as a little hobby. The guys at Crepe Escape have done an amazing job. And what’s better they have painted it in my favourite colour too!

Yep, there is fatty bum bum – I have indulged in a few cream cakes recently, my hair is windswept and Mr C can never take a good photo of me. I will stick to a tripod next time.

For those of you who care I kept my look simple and despite the glorious weather it was pouring it down in the morning so I thought I would put some jeans on. BIG MISTAKE.

    Now, on to the food…

Mr C indulged in a super, doubly spicy chorizo burger which he said was extremely tasty. I have to agree it looked amazing as well.

I opted for Paella from Black Bull Paella. It was fresh and had just been made which made even more appetising. Big chunks of chicken & chorizo is exactly what I like in a paella. It was quite oniony but it was still delicious and quite spicy too. As fan of a little kick we were not disappointed with our choices.

I’m sure you will agree, EVERYTHING, looked amazing & so delicious. In fact my mouth is watering at the sight of the beautiful, hand pick strawberries. (Insert strawberry Emoji / heart eyes face here!)

Not only was there food and drink available they had kitted out the festival with two stages for performances it so it really felt like you were at a festival with some local, home-grown musical talent too! These guys below were awesome with the little accordian!

Honestly, credit goes to the organisers because I have never seen Wetherby so busy before and it was clearly enjoyed by all. The entry was only £2.50 to get in which was an absolute bargain for a full day of entertainment. I hope it is back next year, even bigger & better than this year!

What did you do this weekend? Does your home town offer something similar every year? I’d love to hear from you!

When Cloggs UK asked me if I would like to work with them again, I jumped at the chance. I had free reign of what style of shoe I could request and review.

After choosing a really clumpy pair of Doc Martins last time (see post here!) I wanted something a little more feminine and girly, especially seen as the season of Summer is upon us.

I was really drawn to the low, block heeled sandals that are on offer at the moment and when I saw these white, floral sandals from Qupid I just knew I had to have them. They are such a delicate pair of shoes that you can dress up or down, without feeling too overdressed. They retail at £30.00 and are currently in the sale so be quick at catching these before they sell out.

So how did I style them? I chose my pink, gingham skirt from Primark which I found in the sale for a mere £5, along with my oversized, scuba top from Topshop, that I managed to pick up on eBay for a mere £1.99! (Yes, I do love a good bargain!). No look like this is complete without a cute wired headband, which again was a topshop find. My necklace is a Vivienne Westwood globe which was a gift from my now-husband. My sunglasses were a free gift with the most recent edition of Tatler!

I can see these shoes becoming a bit of a staple this Summer and I can’t wait to give them an outing. Perhaps to the Yorkshire Bloggers meet on the 12th July 2014? I’d love to hear if you are coming along as this will be my first official Bloggers Meet and I’d love to see some faces.

So, what are you waiting for head over to Cloggs UK and get shoe shopping!

  • How I Styled my Dr Marten Aila’s from Cloggs UK (*) | QueenBeady

How I Styled my Dr Marten Aila’s from Cloggs UK (*) | QueenBeady

I was so lucky to receive a pair of Dr Martens from the Aila range in Cherry Red from Cloggs UK (*). After an initial mix up thinking I had ordered the ”off white” I was actually really pleased that I had accidentally ordered the ”cherry red” version.

So of course, I was eager to style the shoes with three outfits but first let me tell you about these gorgeous shoes! I’ve never owned a pair of Dr.Martens and I have never desired to, however I have been lusting after a new pair of brogues for my new job & I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try a pair so off I searched CLOGGS UK website. They offer a wide range of shoes from Vans to Uggs, from Converse to Barbour, you will be spoilt for choice. After placing my order the shoes were despatched straight away & reached me on Saturday morning (which was less than 24 hours!) I was so excited when I opened them and I was met with a beautiful surprise. Whilst clonky they still ooze a feministic style. The cherry red would suit any outfit & I’ve struggled trying to find something that doesn’t go with them. At £124.99 you are most definitely getting a pair of long lasting shoes.

  • Alana Haim Outfit Inspiration | QueenBeady

    Image

Today I bring you the third & final instalment of my outfit inspiration posts on those super talented sisters, Haim. Last but not least is Alana – who is often referred to as Baby Haim. She’s the youngest of the band and exudes playfulness both on stage & off.

I would say Alana’s style is very much the wacky one. As the youngest this is probably why it reflects that the most. She is not afraid to get colourful and show off a bit of leg in her trademark short shorts!

So let me take you on another style journey after trawling the Internet I think I put together the perfect outfit.

    1. This varsity style jacket is an absolute bargain from River Island and personifies Alana. She does occasionally wear the Haims trademark leather jacket like her sisters but your tend to see her in more lighter jackets like this one. In the sale at on £20 you’d be mad not to buy it!

    2. PAISLEY PRINT! Not only am I a huuuuge fan of this print & style it is so on point with Alana’s fashion sense. This will be seen all over the festival circuit this year. You can pick up this in time for the summer season from Topshop at a slightly pricier £36.

    3. Alana wouldn’t be Alana if she wasn’t wearing some really short shorts! I picked these ones because I loved the floral pattern of the pockets that were peaking out at the bottom. From New Look they only cost £14.99. What a bargain?

    4. EEEEK! Look at these beauties? What dreams are made of? These Dr Martens are from Cloggs UK & are the pricier end of the scale at £124.99 but you know you will probably get the quality from a well known brand. I’m awaiting a pair of these beauties so I almost feel like I could be Baby Haims twin!

    5. This super cute swallow necklace is fabulous. It’s very delicate and it’s not too over the top. I think this would just finish the look off perfectly! This can be found at Boohoo at a very lovely price of £5.

So there you have it Alana Haims style from the high street & the last in this series posts. I will no doubt be using this style inspiration for another set of posts soon. I’d love to hear if you want to challenge me to create someone’s style as well – so please leave a comment below!

  • Danielle Haim Outfit Inspiration | QueenBeady

    Image

Today I bring you the second instalment of my outfit inspiration posts of the bands I love. Last time I posted an outfit dedicated to the oldest sister Este which you can find here!

Danielle is the middle sister and quite notably the lead singer of the band (however I sometimes think Estes vocals are a little better. Please don’t shoot me!) she is definitely the dark/mysterious type who takes a back seat whilst her two siblings completely goof off all the time. Her style is much more simple compared to them as well.

    1. This monochrome striped tee is so bang on trend at the moment & I can so totally see Danielle wearing this with her effortless style. This cute top is from New Look and costs a very pocket saving £14.99! Perfect.

    2. YIKES! I love this rope necklace from Miss Selfridge and another steal at £12.50 I think I might have to treat myself on payday. I have a very similar gold rope style necklace that I never want to take off!

    3. Look at these super effortless Imitation Leather trousers from H&M. They are totally in tune with Danielle’s style. Tight, black & leather = spot on. And they are even more spot on at a lovely £19.99 price tag.

    4. Ahhh the time old classic converse shoe. I want a pair of these every year but for some reason my purse strings do not allow it. A festival staple that every girl needs. Available at Schuh at £42 – I think I need to start saving!

    5. Danielle is always found with some sort of leather jacket. I picked up she wore the biker style jacket with no sleeves & I found this one at Topshop which fitted the bill perfectly. It’s not such a bad price at £45 either!i can see her rocking out in it now.

So there you have it, my guide to Danielle Haim’s very cool and laid back style.
