It’s easy to get carried away with Christmas gift giving, I know I am the worlds worst when it comes to making sure I’ve spent the same amount on everyone so I don’t feel too guilty in among all the festive cheer. I’m so lucky to have a kind, generous and loving family that enjoys gift giving and the run up to Christmas as much as I do. Sadly, not every Christmas can be perfect for some. It’s actually a time to really reflect on what matters in life, I wanted to provide an alternative Christmas gift guide to those who may be looking to help someone or a cause less fortunate this year because whilst it’s nice to have prezzies under the tree, there are so many more rewarding gifts you can give this year to someone outside of your family.

My little doggy loves to be fussed but too many people really confuse her and she becomes “whappy dog” an affectionate term for when she has a mad half hour, running backwards and forwards, getting in the way and being a loud and (at some times) obnoxious dog. It’s not her fault, far from it, but I always have to be mindful that not everyone loves dogs or animals quite as much as I do. The RSPCA has put together some handy hints & tips to keep your pets safe over the festive season. Some I found very useful for the festive period.

I’m one of those saps that watches Paul O’Grady For the Love of Dogs with tears in my eyes, proclaiming ”I just want to bring them all home and love them and care for them.” You know this, because you’ve probably been there too. That’s why you are reading this post about the RSPCA Cake Off Challenge. Great, I’m glad we have some common ground. I was asked to bake a cake. As wife to a Farmers Son you probably have the image that for most of the day I’m holed up in the kitchen baking cookies and creating mammoth cakes every day, well quite the contraire. By day I work in digital experiences for Events so you could not be further from the truth. So when I was asked to do it I was like ”Yeah sure, I’ll do my best.” Secretly I thought ”Oh Crap!” but ever one to turn down a challenge I was ready to go full steam ahead!
