I’ve only ever heard good things about the General Tarleton (just on the outskirts of Knaresborough) so when I got the chance to visit I had high hopes already. Situated in the sleepy North Yorkshire village of Ferrensby, it’s easily accessible from the A1. It’s also not far from the pretty Market Town, Knaresborough and Spa Town of Harrogate, so it makes for a great base for exploring the area whilst enjoying a countryside retreat with superb food.
