I saw something on Facebook the other day that quite frankly, pissed me off. Okay, maybe that is a strong way of explaining my feelings. First it pissed me off, then it made me sad, then it made me question society. All these emotions came from a post that kinda went like this “Omg I’m a size 12 now. I’m so fat!” Whilst I really hope that the person can work on loving her body, it just made me so sad that we are conditioned to believe we should be perfect all the time. Guys, you know what I’m probably at my heaviest (albeit not that heavy at all) and yet I’m still feelin’ sassy with all my perfect imperfections.

I feel like my style posts have been slipping off the radar recently. It’s not because I don’t want to do them anymore it’s just I feel like I have lots to say at the moment and each little bit of word vomit that’s circulating around my head is fighting for some airing space. I’ll go through fits and starts. I can pinpoint moments where there’s been a flurry of style posts every other day – I don’t know what it is that inspires me most when I’m posting them. Is it the current trends? The fact my bank account has taken an ASOS hammering? I’m not quite sure.

At the moment I’ve really been reflecting on how happy I am. It sounds so corny but life at the moment is pretty good, things are making me smile and I’m encouraging myself day by day to cherish just the smallest things in life that make me happy, it seems that so much is happening at the moment which is making that an easy task. I’m making sure that I’m not running myself in to the ground either. Accepting things with my blog that I only want to do and not stretching myself socially or professionally.

Ever put on a dress and think “this is the one!” Okay, this only really happened for me when I tried on my wedding dress, but with this dress I almost (very nearly) got the same kinda feels! This style of dress is definitely my thing, in fact, I was pretty sad that I didn’t have a wedding to attend soon so I could wear it. I felt like a 1950’s Glamour Puss. Generally speaking this is not the kind of outfit posts I share as I tend to stick to my more casual, everyday looks but lets face it, this dress just had to be shared.

Okay, okay, let me just clear one thing up. My Quagmire chin cannot be ignored in this post. It’s pretty huge & rather unsightly. But you know what, I rolled my socks up and carried on. I took these photos feeling pretty low, wondering if the pain of jaw would ever go and if my face would ever return to normal. It’s say to say that as I write this it hasn’t been too bad. I completely digress from the post itself and it’s a pretty “androgynous” look from me today that I’m sharing with you. But I want to bestow my inside info that minimalist dressing does not have to cost an absolute fortune.
