    A Bride-to-Be in Meltdown Mode | QueenBeady

Today: I am currently having a breakdown. A wedding crisis. A Bridezilla moment.

All of the above, I thought I would never have or experience in the run up to the Big Day.

Okay, okay. I am no Saint, but I have always made sure I am humble human being. Never one to brag, to show off about my life, keeping my shit together as much as I possibly can even though I am just about treading water. But today everything in my little life has just dawned on me.

I get married in 41 days. It’s not a significant milestone in the countdown to the big day, in fact the 41st day nearer to our wedding is a completely bizarre date to have a complete meltdown. However, it’s just dawned on me that creating a DIY wedding in a year and a half is very hard. Some of you will be rolling your eyes at this post right now, thinking ”bloody hell what is she whining about?” But truth be told, I can imagine the old me saying EXACTLY the same thing just over a year ago.

The list of things to before the big day is slowly getting longer and the questions seem to keep going unanswered in this mind boggling event that is our wedding day. I seem no closer to working it all out, but the seconds, minutes and hours are ticking away and time is becoming a short supply.

The hairdressers are constantly trying to get more money from, the caterers are meant to be sourcing plates but don’t seem to be keeping us in the loop, the ice cream van is not replying to my questions.

I’d love to hear how some of you previous brides or current brides to be are coping or have coped with pre-wedding stress? Please let me know as I am a Bride slightly tipping the edge and it would be great to hear your hints and tips for keeping shit together!

  • The obligatory round-up of 2013!

2013 you have most definitely been an interesting one. I’ve seen quite a lot of things this year, some beautiful & some not so kind. I can certainly say (as cliché as it may sound) one helluva rollercoaster.

January is always a tough one for me, I work every hour god sends and work full weekends to keep on top of the travelling wanderlusters. It is always our busiest time of the year for holiday bookings and this year was no exception. January feels a lifetime ago now that this year is nearly over & done with. Nothing exciting ever happens except for our annual meal out for my Mama’s birthday which was always a lovely affair. This year was no exception & we enjoyed a meal at our favourite pub www.thefoxandhoundswalton.com where the food is always delicious. If you are in the area I highly recommend it, so much so, we have asked them to do the catering for our impending wedding day! We also booked our wedding day with the Church & we couldn’t have been happier that everything was set in stone for what will be our most magical day.

February is again, a very slow month for us. I still end up working weekends. Whilst February is the month of love, James & I are never ones for celebrating Valentines Day (We are Vday Scrooges!) we actually went all out & I created a steak dinner with a baked cake delight for pudding. He did the obligatory flowers & prosecco which certainly did not disappoint.

March I lived for my week off in March. End. March sadly saw my Grandads first illness and was in hospital for a week or so. I’d never seen my Grandad ill so it was really hard to take it in, luckily he was home but there was a huge difference in him. I only hoped that he would get back to himself very soon. (more…)
