Oh hey there, it seems I took nearly a two-week break from the blog (and I so didn’t mean to do that!) You see things were (and still are!) very hectic, especially with the run up to my guest speaking slot at #BlogAtTheBeach last week. I was busy prepping and zoning my energy in to not getting nervous that it just kinda fell by the wayside. I was doing well with the nerves getting the better of me until a few days before, so when the opportunity came up to spend the night before the event at Leeds’ newest hot spot I couldn’t resist. After all, I was ready for a bit of R’n’R beforehand with a luxury stay at the Dakota Deluxe, Leeds. Having already become accustomed with this hotel after hearing all about it from a friend (who raved and raved about it!) I knew it was exactly the type of hotel I was looking for, even if it was in my city!
Sit tight, because I’m pretty sure you’re going to add this to your bucket list for when you’re next in town…
I’m sure, most people who read this blog are bloggers too so I know you’ll understand when I say, “GIRL, I AM STUCK IN A RUT.” Every now & then throughout the year I find myself really struggling for content. My mind closes up on me and says “Not today Bee. Not today.” meaning no amount of word vomiting can create a coherent blog post. Except, I know I’m word vomiting now about not being able to word vomit. Sorry, did I just “inception” you right there? We’ve all been there. Some weeks I could create content for days and have scheduled posts ready and raring to go at every turn, except recently I’ve hit my half-yearly slump.
It’s the 1st of August which means one thing & one thing only. IT’S YORKSHIRE DAY BISHES! I’m a proud Notherner and always have been, but I’m even more prouder that I have been born and bred in the most picturesque County of them all, Yorkshire. Bed Guru asked me to get snapping with a brand new Instax Polaroid to capture some of my favourite spots in & around Yorkshire so this last week I’ve been a busy Bee collecting some perfect polaroids for the #MyYorkshirePhoto campaign!
I’m an outright “pizza snob” and so is my husband. We have the most amazing pizza takeaway near us that whenever we go out we don’t even read the pizza section. That is until we were invited toEcco Pizzeria, Leeds. We were so ready to try out their lip smackinginly, latest menu at their newest branch in Roundhay. It’s not that we don’t like pizza (hell, who doesn’t like pizza?) it’s just we have always found ourselves a little disappointed when we have chosen a pizza dish on many of our date nights. However, it was all about to change from hereon in. Praise the lord for Ecco!
I was recently invited to review the The New Consevatory, Leeds new menu. I’d seen plenty of other bloggers head here and I had never had the pleasure yet so I was excited to see what was in store. The Restaurant and Bar is situated on Albion Place which is very central within Leeds. A very beautiful building, you head down the stairs to the bustling bar. The décor reminds me of an old-world orangery of a very regal house. The walls are lined with book shelves, with many, many novels and hardbacks adorning them, making it a really unique venue. Spending the night with my BFF was also a massive bonus, ‘cos you know we all need to blow off some steam every once in a while, she probs ate her belly pork quietly whilst getting a little bit of TMI, but who cares? FYI, spoiler alert, the belly pork was to die for.
