THE FIRELAKE, RADISSON BLU LEEDS | QUEENBEADY

When the opportunity arises to try out a new menu at a local restaurant it’s very hard for me to say no. I mean come on guys, food. ALL THE FOOD. As a keen bean I’m always intrigued to see what different eateries have to offer. The older I get, the more I enjoy the slightly finer things in life (but hey, that doesn’t mean I’m not adverse to boshing a foot-long steak & cheese subbers every once in a while. Ya with me?) So, when the invitation to see what the Firelake Restaurant at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds dropped in, I was pretty interested. After I did a little research online, it seemed that this was much further away from being “any old hotel restaurant.”

FOOD HEAVEN AT ANGELICA’S, LEEDS | QUEENBEADY

Okay, so the title is pretty much the biggest spoiler alert you could have when it comes to blog post spoilers but I do hope that my in depth account is one that still encourages you to go try it out yourself, too. I was recently invited to Angelica’s, which is situated at the top of the Trinity Centre in the centre of Leeds, to review their short yet tantalising menu. We slipped straight up in the lift to the 6th floor to be greeted by the pleasant staff and the panoramic views of Leeds through the floor to ceiling windows. The perfect spot for a mid-afternoon, post-shopping cocktail. I armed myself with an Angelica’s Autumn Punch which is vodka, fraise de bois, fraise liquor, raspberries and topped with prosecco. The perfectly zingy drink was all I was expecting and more. James chose the Yorkshire Lager, which is in fact brewed in a little village called Cropton. For something that was more like a pale ale, it was actually really tasty, something that really surprised me.

    The Botanist

I love a good meal out, in fact, our friends & family are always winding us up about how much we like to indulge on trips to our favourite restaurants. You see, when you have an unhealthy relationship with food (#relationshipgoals) it’s hard to pass up any opportunity when invited along to review somewhere, especially when food of all epic proportions is involved #ilovefood. We were asked by The Botanist in Leeds to come and try their brand spanking, new menu for the summer months and without hesitation I was like “GIMME ALL DEM FOODS. I AM THERE. WHERE DO I SIGN UP?” because, girl loves food.

    The Alchemist Greek Street

If there’s a cocktail bar that gets me excited in Leeds, it has to be The Alchemist at Trinity. It’s got a rooftop terrace, it feels so airy and light and the cocktails are divine. When I was invited along to visit their brand spanking new The Alchemist Greek Street, Leeds I knew that I had to give it a whirl. We’d been asked to review a full three course meal along with drinks to review on my blog and here I am to give you a true account of our experience. They describe their extensive list of cocktails of that of a “renowned Smokey Old Fashioned and the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” rolled all in to one giving you a unique cocktail experience.

Yorkshire Bloggers Meet at Bundobust, Leeds | QueenBeady

    Bundobust Leeds 4

If there is one thing that is on my mind constantly (no, not that you dirty buggars!) it’s food. Food is pretty much all I think about. After all, it is what keeps you alive & kicking. So when the #YorkshireBloggers meet was taking shape for the May meet by the lovely Fran at A Style Creative and the words food were involved. I was allll over it like a rash. I’m a girl who likes her meat (okay, I will try stop with the innuendo’s here, but you stop being naughty pasty’s too!) so I was extremely sceptical over the suggested venue, Bundobust Leeds. It’s a vegetarian spot that caters its guests with foreign curries and Indian style market food along with delicious and unique craft beers too. When looking at the menu though, I needn’t have worried!
