I feel like my style posts have been slipping off the radar recently. It’s not because I don’t want to do them anymore it’s just I feel like I have lots to say at the moment and each little bit of word vomit that’s circulating around my head is fighting for some airing space. I’ll go through fits and starts. I can pinpoint moments where there’s been a flurry of style posts every other day – I don’t know what it is that inspires me most when I’m posting them. Is it the current trends? The fact my bank account has taken an ASOS hammering? I’m not quite sure.

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but recently I have done away with my tripod. No longer am I taking photos by myself before I head out, all alone, trying to ”werk it” with no encouragement. It sounds stupid but it’s damn hard to try and work it when you have absolutely no clue what it looks like on the other side. A couple of weeks ago I took the plunge. I asked my sister to do my blog photos for me. Little did I know just how much easier it would begin to be, with someone being able to tell you what you look like, what’s working and what’s not is not only making my photos a damn sight better, it’s actually bolstering my confidence in bucket loads.

You know when you have one of those moments where you’re shopping and suddenly the room stops moving, all arrows lead to one dress and nothing else matters at all. YOU HAVE TO HAVE THAT DRESS. You know the times I’m talking about, am I right? Well this was one of those sweet moments in time indeed. However, I was in Zara and as much as I love the shop you do need to have a little bit of extra disposable income to afford most things, that, or a super shiny credit card (neither of which I hail to have.)

A Festival LookBook | Guest Post by Remi Mayer

I think everyone has their little passions and little secret obsessions. For some girls its makeup, for some it’s shopping; well for those are festivals. I don’t think there is anything as liberating as being completely free of prejudice and being able to dress and accessorize yourself however it comes naturally to you. The crowds and music are just mesmerizing, and we somehow all go back to that hippie era where all that was important was peace, love and harmony, and I think that is perfectly depicted in the colourful, flowery and magical fashion style that erupts during festival season.

Prints & Patterns Wishlist with Bon Marche| QueenBeady

bonI’d made a pact with myself last year that I would wear more black. It sounds morbid I know but I was desperately in need of some structure and classic pieces in my wardrobe that would stand the test of time. With Spring on our doorstep I am thinking I need to take a few steps back with this little ‘’mini-resolution’’ with myself because to me the brighter nights and the sunshine-y days require a much more vibrant palette, that and bold prints.

I have been scouring Bon Marche’s website for some exciting patterns that I know will work wonders for my closet and spruce up some dull outfits!
