Links of London Christmas Wishlist | QueenBeady

I love the build up to Christmas, more so than the actual day itself. There is something so magical, just watching the festive lights in your local town or in the comfort of your own home staring at your own perfected Christmas tree. I enjoy the gift giving, far too much. I could spend hours on-line collating ideas for presents in the run up to St. Nicholas! Mulled wine, spiced apple & cinnamon candles burning, the German Christmas markets, there is always something nice about Christmas that fills me up with joy.

I also am a huge fan of picking out all the presents for me too (or should I say ”creating a mini wishlist” of things I’d love my husband to buy me!) the occasional hint gets me far and Mr C never fails to impress with his gift giving skills too. Boy, I am one lucky lady!

When Links of London got in touch about putting together wishlist on Pinterest of all my favourite items from their website I jumped for joy. I had an excuse now to look at all the pretties & create something easy on the eye. You can find my wishlist by clicking here! I thought I’d pick out a few of my firm favourites & share them with you all.

The Classic XS Sweetie bracelet is a must-have for me. It’s so timelessly elegant, especially for my little wrists. It’d look great built up with a classic watch and a few other bracelets too, or it can do all the talking by itself! A perfect fit for my jewellery collection. This is available for £120.00 here!

For me, a timeless watch is everything. If you have the right time-telling arm candy we will get along just fine. This paticular watch stood out because there were a variety of different colours available & of course, every girl needs a watch for every occassion, right?! If you are feeling generous towards yourself or a loved one you can pick this up here for a cool £450.00!

This little ring can be found on Links of London website. When I was browsing through the ring department I was shocked to see wedding bands too. Having got married this year I didn’t realise that Links did wedding bands & I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of them. This beauty above is so cute & I love the texture of it. It’s very different! You can pick this up here  for only £85.00!

For men I usually find it hard to get them something. Purely because when Mr C wants something he will go out & get it. I absolutely adored the Men’s watches but was drawn to these unusual Skull cufflinks! I’m sure for those out there who have a slightly edgier partner would be thrilled to find something like this in their stocking this year. You can find them here for £150.00!

Have you seen anything on the website that has caught your eye? I’d love to know! Remember to head over to my wishlist on Pinterest and let me know what are your favourite pieces.

If you like the look of what’s available Links of London is giving you the chance to win your entire wishlist, up to the value of £1200, this Christmas! Click here to enter now!

    chocolate desert pizza express

    pizza express christmas menu

I had the pleasure of an all-expenses paid meal at Pizza Express the other week. We set to a busy, festive York to sample their brand new Christmas menu & boy was I looking forward to it. Christmas & food in one sentence is just too much for little old me, I might pop with excitement.

We ventured to the Museum Street branch, which is just across Lendall Bridge & opposite the Museum gardens. Being right on the river sets a nice atmosphere too. It was bustling with people when we arrived so we were shown to some comfy seats where we could peruse the menu’s. I have to say everything sounded delicious & I was struggling to choose. As the building is so old it still has all it’s glamorous high ceilings and detailing which is just exactly what I love about York.

Our host for the evening was a jolly girl who made up for some entertainment, Hollie. She clearly enjoyed what she was doing & it shone through. When pronounced with two glasses of prosecco (my favourite!) she was quick to advise what dishes were delicious. I opted for the Pork & Pancetta Croquettes (For those who don’t know what that is: Pulled pork belly, pancetta, cheddar and basil croquettes breaded and baked, served with a spiced arrabbiata sauce. ALL THE NOMS.) Mr C was rather dull, which is unlike him, and chose cheesy garlic bread (I don’t think anyone needs a description here & if you do, walk away slowly!)

I was quite hungry so my starter went down an absolute treat. Everything was so tasty leaving me wanting maybe an extra croquette to put me on till our main meal. But, alas I did not have to fear as it only took ten minutes or so between courses. Now, I’m not a huge fan of pizza’s when at a restaurant. I find them messy & awkward but in the namesake place of pizza, I had to indulge. Of course, I went for a new, Christmas pizza that they had just launched; Anatra Romana which was pulled duck, shredded courgette, red onion and mozzarella on a light plum hoisin sauce finished with rocket and fresh spring onion. I think I have an obsession with any pulled meat. Mr C being an avid heat tester went for Pizza Express’ hottest pizza on the menu, Francesco Mazzei Calabrese. This had all manners of cured meat and spicy chilli’s on it. It’s safe to say he was impressed. It was a good 8/10 for him & I quote ”The best pizza I have had in restaurant EVER.” That is a mean fete! Mine was lovely, albeit a little sweet, but all the same the rocket on top mixed with the duck was just lovely! I’d have no qualms in recommending it at all.

Now, to say I was looking forward to the deserts was an understatement. I don’t know if any of you have been to Pizza Express before but, their desert menu is something to behold. I wanted to ask if we could have a sharing plate & try them all, but my waist cracked & decided against it. We were terribly cliche and both went for the same thing, Chocolate Tartufo. This is a moist chocolate sponge topped with a crispy waffle praline and rich Belgian dark chocolate with a praline mousse centre. Boy, did that sound good and was highly recommended by our waitress! Third glass of prosecco down I managed to get two thirds of the way through it, but my, was it good. Very sweet & intense so I’d recommend a glass of water when drinking it which is probably why I was defeated by it in the end!

For £19.95 per person to enjoy a three course meal with a glass of prosecco is great value for money and you aren’t skimping in quantity OR quality. I must say I am now thoroughly a pizza fan!

S0102548 (2) Top H&M | Skirt C/O Poppy Lux | Watch Olivia Burton | Leopard Print Shoes New Look  I’ve always dreamed of owning my own walk-in wardrobe, so when Mr C’s Grandparent’s go on holiday twice a year I can play pretend. Whilst a striking resemblance to the girl out of the ‘’The Ring’’ is quite apparent in these photo’s it was time for me to play dress up. I am a huge fan of Breton stripes and own far too many of these tops to even care to suggest, but, when paired with a sparkly new skirt from Poppy Lux (sister brand to SugarHill Boutique) it seemed a match made in heaven? Now, I love this time of year as it becomes acceptable to wear a little bit of sparkle without feeling too guilty. After all, one of my main motto’s in life is ‘’leave a little sparkle wherever you go’’ and this skirt does exactly that. I teamed this look with my new Olivia Burton watch that the husband bought me for my birthday back in October – a firm favourite of mine! Not forgetting my new leopard print heels, an eBay session brought these to me. Now, you must excuse me whilst I head back up to the dressing room and play Princesses for a few more hours…

It’s that time of year where people start wearing baubles for earrings, tinsel in their hair and those big brash Christmas jumpers with reindeers and flashing noses (or something like that?) It’s pure tack. I love Christmas, but I’m one of those people who meticulously applies ornaments to the Christmas tree and I am not an advocate for tinsel. Tinsel comes nowhere near my house. So delight was met when I was cordially invited to the #MandCoBloggerXmasParty earlier this month for a little classy & sophisticated fashion affair.

The first of it’s kind, M&Co are networking with the multitude of Bloggers that the UK has to offer and Leeds was first on their whistle stop tour. Sharing with us some of their Boutique and Christmas party pieces was great to see. I once thought that M&Co was for the older generation but their newest collections are just going to show that they are really upping their game in the style steaks.

We huddled in The Pit in Leeds where we feasted on mini burgers, tasty BBQ ribs and some weird & wonderful deep fried concoctions. Armed with my signature Peach Bellini cocktail I got to catch up with some of the most loveliest bloggers of Leeds and ogle some beautiful pieces of clothing. What a wonderful way to spend a Thursday evening?

A few of my favourite pieces were the tailored cigarette pants and this beautiful lace dress that looked like a two piece co-ord! The price tags reflect the quality and standards of the garments and you can tell that they are all really well made. Even the necklaces on show were gorgeous and had a bit of weight to them which always counts in my books when it comes to jewellery.

A lovely evening was had by all, at 8pm I had to dash otherwise I would have turned in to a pumpkin before the night was out. What outfits are you loving from the M&Co website? There are plenty of party pieces that I have my eye on.

  • Christmas with the Clayton’s (to-be)

It’s the 1st December 2013. Whilst we’ve put the Christmas tree up on this Sunday afternoon there is an undertone of pain & sadness. My grandad is currently in hospital and is very unwell. At the (not so old) age of 64 I’ve always seen him as an everlasting human being. He was the first man in my life & I guess I have been the apple of his eye, affectionately known as “Gwadad” I would often refer to him as “ya ‘usband” when talking to my nana at five years of age. We’re visiting him often and making sure he’s comfy & that he knows he has a loving family round him. It’s hard to see him with all the tubes in & struggling for air. So please pray and wish for me, my family & most of all my Gwadad that he makes a full recovery and is back with his family this Christmas. It is where he belongs.
    With love & blessings, Rebecca
