WELCOME HOME! I hear you shout!

Some of you may or may not know (and if you don’t, do you live under a rock?!?!) that I have been wedding-fying and honeymooning myself up with my HUSBAND.

I hope to bring you a few posts over the next few weeks that share a glimpse and a peek into our special day, but for now in the spirit of keeping our honeymoon alive & well I thought I would post an outfit inspired write up today because I have been lusting after the Italian lifestyle.

“why?” I hear you say. Well. Let me tell you.
    1. Everything is just effortlessly chic.
I could go on to point 2 but to be honest the above sums it up pretty nicely. Having skirted and winded around the Amalfi Coast, explored the billionaire practise that is Capri, people watched from a quaint cafe in Sorrento I can safely say we experienced all of what the beautiful region of Italy had to offer.

Nails Inc Nail Polish #1 | QueenBeady

It’s Friday! I bet many of you are shouting out with glee but for me it’s been Friday for the past week as I’ve been enjoying a nice week off before I start my new job on Monday (cue the scary face!)

After reading Erin Louise Blog post on her new set of Nail Inc. polish set it inspired me to get my favourite nail polishes out & give my nails a once over.

Now my nails are not in the best condition due to copious amounts of gel & shellac sessions so I’ve been laying off putting on nail polish for the last few days. I filed them down to a nice rounded finish to get them looking remotely acceptable.

I chose to use George Street which is the nice pale pink (perfect for Spring!) & I sometimes like to jazz up my third finger with a bit of glitz & glitter so I used St. Martins Place from the Modern Art collection. I love the finish to this polish because its so different to your usual “glitter” polishes on the high street.

Please excuse the poor lighting but, I hope you can see the standard of these nail polished. Whilst I am a fan of Rimmel I don’t think you can ever beat Nails Inc. because they lasting finish with the is second to none.

The way these polishes went on was fantastic. Very smooth and it’s dries so quickly that you very rarely get the chance to smudge (& being a lefty I very rarely get it right first time.) It is ok to blame everything on being a lefty, right?

Now you must excuse me, I am off I see the vicar today so I must go & beautify myself! TOODLES.

I recently spoke of how much I didn’t want to buy a few (gorgeous!) nail polishes from Rimmel as it’s celebrity endorser was Rita Ora (I can’t say I’m her biggest fan!) but I bit the bullet this week as I noticed they were on offer in my local Morrison’s & I had been dying to get these colours for AGES!

#703 Is a beautiful pearly white and its name is White Hot Love & I have been after a colour like this for ages but never found one. I thought with it coming in to spring it was a perfect time to get on the look for it & woe behold, there she was sitting pretty. When I started to painted my nails it came out in a thick gloop (even after a vigorous shake or two!) and it just didn’t seem to go on very well. It was far too thicker consistency than my usual 60 seconds polishes. I was not impressed. I am however, going to have another go & see if it was just the artist at work (me) or if it was the actual polish itself. I think it’s going to be the latter as the my other polish #873 was a dream.

#873 is a beautiful mint shade that is perfect for these glorious spring months ahead. Her name is Breakfast in Bed which I thought was awesome! This will go so well with my new work outfits for my new job. The brushes in both of these polishes were a little bit different and were not as wide as others, which I really liked about the Rimmel collection. Why they have done away with that style I don’t know? #873 glided on smoothly and stayed a lot nicer than #703 (which, did I add looked like I had painted my nails with Tippex?!). I really liked the colour and it also painted on very nicely.

Like anything one thing can be good, another can be horrendous & on this occasion I think I have come across this. So now I am off to go paint my nails in my lovely #873 whilst I enjoy this sunny day off.

Have you tried any of the Rita Ora Rimmel nail polishes recently? I’d love to hear what you think!

BUY YOUR COCOA SHEA BODY BUTTER HERE

I’m no beauty expert like a lot of you out there & you are all going gasp when I tell you where I got my most recent body butter from, you really will.

The pot looks like something you’d find in the body shop, the smell of it is almost like you have just melted 247 bounty’s all in one go. Well I can assure you this pot of pure bliss is more certainly not from the body shop. It is in fact from Aldi. Yes. You did just read that right & no your eyes are not deceiving you. This tub of genius costs only £1.99 and would soften the roughest & the most toughest skin out there. I blogged last week I was suffering with dry skin & I happened to walk past a metal basket in Aldi with all these glorious pots of body butter that happened to catch my eye and even my fiancé suggested I try it. For £1.99 I wasn’t throwing money down the drain.

As you can see from the photo the cream is quite firm which you need to work in to the skin quite well but eventually you get there & your hands feel silky smooth (sorry for the terrible “You don’t mess with the Zohan” quote). It smells amazing. I cannot even explain the smell. It is unreal. Simple.

So stop before you head to one of those expensive beauty counters look at the places you would never look! Because you will find some fantastic little gems hiding somewhere like I did.

Let me know if you’ve tried this body butter!

  • Nail Art Review on MUA Bold Blue Nail Polish | QueenBeady

Friday is my favourite day off in the week because I have the house to myself, I can catch up with house work (bore!), watch whatever I like & just generally slob out! and today is no different. I have decided to paint my nails with a new nail polish I bought from Superdrug the other night.

I felt a bit sorry for myself after a hard day at the office & I needed a little pick me up. (what girl doesn’t?) so I headed to my local Superdrug to have a little peak and found myself gazing at the MUA stand. Why on earth have I never come across these little gems before? I twirled it round and there was just value galore in front of my eyes. Everything ranged from £1 upwards.

I turned my attention to the nail polish as I like to do my nails to chill out & calm myself as I find it very therapeutic. There were about 10 different colours, most of them were pink, but I wanted something a little different. My favourite colour of the moment is duck egg blue , with its very Cath Kidston feel. I love everything in this beautiful, powdery blue because it just feels like Spring & Summer when I look at it
