I like to pretend I’m Mary Berry or Peggy Porschen, but if you tasted what I had baked you wouldn’t believe me. So, until I get one of those super fancy Kenwood Mixer’s I won’t be baking for a while, is it too early to start a Christmas 2015 wishlist? Instead I thought I’d best focus my efforts on another hobby. With the blustery winds it has forced us to stay inside (unless we wanted to be blasted across the Atlantic at 50mph) so I turned my attention this rather cute set from the Kirsty Allsopp range at HobbyCraft. With this beautiful, rose-scented bath creamer kit I can create a number of little homemade gifts shaped like little cupcakes for the ones I love, so that’s exactly what I set to doing. It’s super simple & I used our microwave to create them. The fanstastic smells of rose, almond, shea and cocoa have left our house smelling divine. I hand delivered these to my Mum, Sister & Nana and they were all delighted. A lazy afternoon making these, was an afternoon well-spent to see their faces light up with an impromptu, handmade gift! Have you tried any of the kits from Kirsty Allsopp’s range, if so which ones?
I never really feel compelled to write beauty posts. I’m no good at beauty so there is no point in preaching about a subject that I have absolutely zero clue about! However, after my loving Mr C purchased me my new favourite fragrance, Reveal by Calvin Klein ( you must go & have a spray as it is just deliciously good!) he also bought me a new hairdryer as mine went KAPUT! After hours of scouring the internet he fell upon the Babyliss Diamond HairDryer which had a substantial saving on the Boots website. For me, a hairdryer is a hairdryer but this, is so much more!
My hair is fine & thick, that is a fact & espite having quite a lot chopped off in November it still requires a lot of maintenance. Normally my hair would take a good twenty minutes to half an hour to dry & that wasn’t before I even started styling it! I never thought there would be a solution to creating a chic look without too much effort. But alas, with my new hairdryer my hair now only takes 5 minutes or so to dry and not only that it styles fabulously well just by brushing my ends under to create a cute long bob. A look that I’m trying to channel which is reminiscent of Olivia Palermo’s gorgeous style, TOTAL BABE!
Now, I’m not going to go super techy & explain all the scientific information – I’m just going to read it off the box!Because of the diamond infused ceramic technology it means your hair is silky smooth and requires very little products to style it, it does all the work for you! My hair is so prone to frizz & now it is a thing of the past (I so totally sounded like I was on an advert there!) I most definitely would give this hairdryer a glowing 5 star review and by the looks of things, I’m not the only one! My straighteners are currently on the backburner, they are that good! Have you recently invested in a new product that makes your life much easier?
Hello, Hello, Hello & welcome to August! Can you believe another month has flown by? This month I am super excited as it is the month of Leeds Festival and I cannot bleeding wait. It is such an electric experience being at a festival and you cannot compare it to anything else in life.
When the lovely SOPHIE asked if some of us wanted to get on board with a ‘’Celebrity LookALike’’ challenge/collaboration I jumped at the chance.
Most of you know my absolute LOVE for the band, Haim. It sounds big headed but alot of people tell me about my resemeblance to resident Baby Haim aka Alana. Now I don’t know if it is because I’m pint sized or rock the middle parting? But apparently, I do. And of course I am ever so humble when people tell me that…. YEAH RIGHT?! You have to scrape me from the ceiling any time anyone says that because to me, they are my idols. Simple.
So because I’m not a huge make up junkie or beauty blogger as such, I thought I would take my own spin on things by doing a more ‘’Fashion’’ related post by depicting their style. If you want to read my post on Alana Haim’s Outfit Inspiration you can read it here! I tried to keep it very simple because that is exactly what Alana’s style is like.
My Hair. I literally wake up on a morning and this is what it is like. slightly wavy or kinked (in slightly annoying spots!) with my middle parting. I should probably do more with it, but it is just how the Haim Sisters rock it?!
The Top. This was another eBay find. ‘’MORE ISSUES THAN VOGUE’’. I absolutely love the over sized feel to it & I will be taking this to Leeds Festival with me this year. YAY!!
The Shorts. These are an old vintage pair of Topshop roll up shorts. Excuse the legs, lumps and bumps galore. But, you know whatttttt, I don’t care bitchessssss! Alana never goes on stage without parading around in the teeniest, tiniest shorts in her wardrobe and she looks super duper cute!
The Chelsea Boots. I love my chelsea boots but I haven’t worn them much as it’s summer and I want to get my tootsies out whilst I can. During the winter these are my staple, go to boots. They were from Barratts and cost £50!
The Socks. Oh my little frilly socks. I feel like I have rewound back to class 4 and I am just starting a new school year, with my brand new uniform on. Those were the days where you could get away with frilly socks. Not at the ripe age of 24! But, again, Alana rocks it. So that makes it ok, right? They were from Primark of course, priced at a cool £1.50.
Now, time to send you over to all the other girls collaboration pages to see how they rocked their celebrity inspired look! Head over to:
Now, I aren’t going to lie. I am often drawn in to buying magazine if they have a pretty gift attached to it. So when I walked into my local shop & Marie Claire was staring at me, offering me a free Ciate Nail Polish in exchange for a £2 magazine, I quite literally jumped at the chance, dipped my fingers in to my new italian leather purse and hopped to the counter.
These little Ciate Mini’s are perfect for popping in your purse just in case you ever need a touch up and they also come in the most adorable colours. I am loving the duck egg blue colour at the moment, so much so, that I dressed my bridesmaids in this colour. I think it is so flattering no matter what your skin tone. I have quite a few variations of blue polishes at the moment but I have to say this gets 10/10 for colour!
I started with my base coat and then built it up with three layers with the polish becoming less transparent every time. I have to say that the brush with this polish had to be the easiest one I have ever used. It effortlessly glided on my ill-shaped nails each time.
I didn’t even ruin my nails once. It dries so fast so it makes it super quick to put on. It dries so quick that when you are touching up the brush doesn’t glide so well. But all in all, I just made sure I had a steady hand and got it right on the next set of fingers.
I started to get chips 48-72 hours after I had applied it so it lasted quite well for a normal polish (especially without the top coat!)
Having tried the Ciate Mini’s I will more than likely be investing in some more exciting colours for the summer ahead.
What do you think of Ciate? Rate it or not? Have you got any favourite colours to inspire me?

I’m a thrifty shopper, if there has ever been one & I love to get a deal as much as the next person. I feel like I have hit the jackpot when I win something for 99p on eBay that still has tags on & should have cost £40 in store. Naturally, when I have a dress that can work as a festival/day time look and also be dressed up for an evening, I am a very happy girl lady.
Imagine my delight when The Hut asked me if I wanted to style a Festival outfit for £30! I was delighted. After browsing their amazing and easy to navigate website I was drawn to this beautiful dress. I have a little bit of a love for clothes with birds on for some reason? Maybe it’s because we have chickens. I’m not quite sure, but I did know that I was drawn to canary (yes, bird related again!) yellow dress.
The detailing is beautiful and so intricate! I was instantly drawn to each individual section almost like I was taken on a fabric version of watership down. Yes, a terrible way to describe it but look at the pretty?!

Now, I realise this dress looks VERY short in this photo, I guess the way you carry yourself wearing heels does not help when wearing dresses. I don’t think I accounted for dem hips n’ thighs when ordering a size Medium! Alas, look at that hat doe. Isn’t she beautiful. I recently instgrammed/tweet a photo with me wearing this hat before the Blog Yorkshire Meet (which you can read about here!) but I was a chicken and didn’t wear it in the (queue the bork bork borkkkkkkk sounds!)
I am so excited to give them a proper outing! Which is your favourite look? How would you have styled this dress, I’d love to hear from you.
