THE SNUGGLEDOWN CHALLENGE | QUEENBEADY

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

For those of you who follow me on Twitter & Instagram, you will know I’ve been spending many a night recently sleeping on the sofa because of this god awful “hacking cough” that is doing the rounds and sadly it won’t F off. Sleeping in our bed is just not ideal because one, I keep waking up Mr C (oops) and two, I’m not very comfortable. I wrote a post about getting a good nights sleep a few weeks back, which you can read here and whilst I really thought of some great ways to get to sleep I never really thought or took in to consideration  how much your duvets and pillows could possibly enhance your sleeping experience.

Luckily, the kind people at Snuggledown saw my desperate plea for a good nights sleep and answered all my sleep-deprived prayers. HALLELUJAH. PRAISE JESUS. This could not have come at a better time because like most people who have set themselves New Years Resolutions, I have kicked myself up the bum and will be restarting back at the gym to work out and get back in shape. Hey, you know what they say, “Summer bodies are made in Winter” (cue rolling eyeballs emoji!) But in all seriousness, I gotta get this booty back on track and it ain’t gonna magic itself up. Plus, another big bonus of going to the gym is that I sleep so much better!

Snuggledown’s duvets are designed by using the same technology that’s used in sportswear and gym gear. The science in it, is that it works by regulating your body temperature at night by carrying heat and moisture away from the body. (Mind. blown.) Which if I’m honest, is exactly what I need because I get so warm on a night.

The luxury, Norwegian heritage bedding is actually made and manufactured here in the UK. We know this has been the year of Hygge and Snuggledown wanted to keep themselves warm and cosy in those rather cold Norwegian winters and combine them with the grand, British technology we have to create them.

There tag line “Born in Norway – Made in Britain” is something I can fully get on board with because Oslo happens to be one of my favourite European city breaks and I know exactly what quality means to them. Amazon will be stocking these gorgeously, light & feathery duvets from the end of January 2017 so I already have a sneaky suspicion that they are going to be worth their weight in gold.

So, I have a two week challenge to see how our Snuggledown 10.5 tog king sized duvet and pillows can enhance our sleeping patterns. I’ll be giving regular updates over on my Twitter channel to track my progress (and you can too!) And if the duvet is as cosy as it looks then I think my night time sleeping sessions will be a huge hit.

Wish me luck!

I could not agree more. A girl and her bed are an endless love affair, am I right?

Cannot wait to see how you get on with this. I really need a better sleep routine and at this stage I’m willing to try anything! There is nothing better than climbing into a freshly made bed with new sheets and pillows. It’s actually one of my most favourite feelings (I think that is why I get so excited about staying in nice hotels).

Good luck with the sleep challenge!

I have to say, fresh bedding and the new duvet made it so much easier to get to sleep last night (sadly my 1am coughing fit made sure I didn’t get back to sleep again, so it was back on the sofa for the night for me *sad face*)

I think I’ve linked to my other post in this about tips for getting to sleep, might be worth a read because there’s some good suggestion in the comment section too.

      Good luck!

Got to sleep well for our first night, but my 1am coughing fit had other plans. Had to go back down on the sofa so I didn’t keep waking Mr C 🙁

I think I do too, I need to start going to the gym/doing more exercise to tire myself out and put my phone down earlier.
      Thank you so much!

This duvet cover sounds f-ing incredible. I’ve got a kingsize bed (serious star fishing) and I’m currently using two duvets to keep warm but the fact this can regulate your body temp is amazing. I hope your cough goes soon! I’m only just over mine, it’s been a mare! xx

I’m jeal of your own king sized bed. You definitely need this cosy duvet to enjoy it even more. First night where I didn’t wake myself up was completed last night!

We have such a fight over duvets- but not in the traditional sense – more for the fact I like a fluffy thick one to snuggle into and keep warm, whereas Adam gets really hot and sweaty if it’s too thick. I’ve genuinely even considered sewing two different thickness singles together so we’re both happy! Haha! Alice xxx

That is SUCH a good idea. I’m like your Adam, I get so so so hot – but it doesn’t help that our boiler is in our bedroom. Maybe a snuggledown duvet might help?

When I saw you post about this on Twitter/IG I realised that my partner and I have had the same cheapy king size duvet for over 5 years. I make an effort to change our pillows regularly, at least every year, because gross. But I never even considered that the duvet could need changing; for hygiene reasons and because it’s just not that comfortable anymore! WIll definitely be looking into buying a new duvet, so will be very interesting to hear how you get on with this challenge. x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

To be fair, it took us a fair while to change our last duvets (before getting this Snuggledown one) – you really do forget don’t you.

I would definitely suggest looking at these ones, the best way to describe it, is getting in to a luxury hotel bed! I think the duvets retail at £65, however, it’s an investment!
