Gosh, I really do seem to be very up and down on my blog as of late. I’m finally getting to a really good place in life. My relationship just feels so wonderful at the moment, work is going really well and my mental health is on the incline after finally accepting and getting help. Despite all of the above I’ve been ever so quiet on Twitter and Instagram recently. It’s been really nice just living in the now and not having to work to too many deadlines or feeling like I need to be connected to world wide web all the time.

Finding time to sit down and write is terribly difficult at the moment. Not only finding the time to do it, but it’s also about how inspired I am. My over-indulgence of Gilmore Girls on Netflix is partly to blame. I looked back over these photos that I shot with Alex and it was all the inspiration I needed, really. I’ve been taking my time with posts, creating photographic content with Alex that’s not rushed and very raw. I like the direction my blog is taking. I might not be here constantly like I was before but I feel like I’m producing the quality I want and have strived for, for so long. I look at my blog and I’m happy.

By allowing myself to enjoy being in the present I have been enjoying my time much more, stressing less about my next blog post and generally just being a much happier, more positive human being. Something that I have so desperately wanted these last few months. By not being active on social as much I’ve uncovered a new found love for actual “human interaction.” That being with my husband the most. We have laughed so much these last few weeks. I’ve taken the time to listen to him and chat with him with no distractions, something in this day + age seems to be a rarity. It’s not conducive to be obsessed with social media and I’m afraid I’d hit that line. I’m glad I now see just how much it consumed my daily routines. And it’s safe to say, I’ve accepted that. I’m now working on it.

Despite my mini break from social media, I will always have fire in my belly for this blog. After 6 long years of curating my lifestyle, fashion and travel picks I will find a way back to it. Just please bear with me in the process.

I think everyone has to step back from social media and nourish the real human interactions in life from time to time. I’m so happy that you’re in a happy place. (And also this is my favourite set of photographs on your blog so far!) x

Could not agree more! It’s such a vicious cycle that you have to snap yourself out of because it’s so easy to get lost in it! Thank you so much, I love working with Alex!

These photos are incredible! You look so amazing! The internet will always be here to distract us from real life- good for you for saying no every once in a while. Real life really is where the happiest moments are. xx

Aw thank you Laura. I love working with Alex on my shoots. He’s really easy to work with! I could not agree more with the latter statement.

Wonderful photos! I now I am so guilty of being super obsessed with social media, with my blog, to the point of excluding others sometimes. I could definitely do with taking a step back from it all and having a bit of a detox (although the words “digital detox” sound so cliche!) I’m really glad you’re happy with your blog now, because surely that is what it’s all about, right? To be happy with everything; with our health, our relationships, our friendships, our jobs, our blogs, and life in general? x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

Thanks Aimee. Same here, that’s when I decided, enough was enough. I was glued to my phone. I needed to stop, I was letting my other half down by not paying him any attention & that really had to stop. Tech is such a huge part of our lives now, its easy to get distracted by it.

I’m so so so happy you’re feeling better Bee, I was concerned about you if I’m honest. I took time out when I went to NYC and I agree it is good for your mental health and your relationship. The pictures are stunning, but it is the content of the post that really makes me smile, and knowing you’re feeling better 🙂

Oh bless you sweetheart, you don’t need to worry about me! It means a lot that you care that much. I have been stuck in a rut for last few months and I’ve taken the opportunity to sort it out rather than let it eat me up. Sometimes a break is all you need. No pressures. Thank you.

So glad you’re feeling better and that you’re figuring things out. It’s so easy to get totally consumed in this whole blog and social media thing and then we feel this huge pressure to keep up even if we’re not really up for it. But, like us, blogs evolve over time and they need a little breathing space to do it! These photos are absolutely fierce by the way <3

Thanks Suzy. I’m feeling super pumped about life and work etc, I’m now going to slowly start working hard on my blog again to bring it back to life!

Gurllll firstly, you look bloody amazing in those shots – I LOVE them (and those boots!), secondly we all need a little time away from the online world, to step and appreciate what’s going on around us! And lastly, I’m so bloody happy that you’re happy and feeling more settled my lovely – you take the time you need, we’re not going anywhere! <3

Oh Hayley, thank you so much! The boots are pretty spectacular aren’t they? Haha! We really do, I’m enjoying myself by not pressurising myself too much. I was letting it really take over and that’s not the life I wish to lead unless this I my main source of income (which I’m starting to think might be a pipe dream now!) Thank you for being there, cheering me on from the sidelines!

Bee, I have only known you a short space of time and even during that time, we haven’t been in touch constantly, but you’re always there. 🙂
I know you’ve had a break and we all need it from time to time, but reading this post makes me smile, as it feels like a sense of calm has come over you. That you are truly happy and content and not in a panic. This is something that I fear many of us, myself included, feel, the panic to produce and sadly it does come across in posts.
I give you a virtual hug and look forward to whats to come on your space. xxx

      Caroline,
You don’t know how much those words mean to me, it’s almost like you’ve been able to depict what my brain was thinking. I have been panicking. God knows what for, but I have and it really manifested in my life. When am I gonna have baby, is work too much, am I doing enough at work, is my blog a pipe dream? All those things that were wittering away in my brain. It’s crazy how much I let it get me down. Now, I need to accept each day as it comes!
Thank you so much for being there in my life xxx
