As an ex-travel agent, it’s hard for me to not want those indulgent experiences. Travelling is great for the soul, the mind and all-round life experience. Elegant Resorts cater for those wonderful memories you create in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations such as the Caribbean, The Indian Ocean and many more. Creating a luxury Caribbean or Mauritius holiday experience in the UK was top of the agenda & I couldn’t think of anything better than The Courtyard Spa at the local Bridge Inn at Walshford. Having been before when the Spa just opened it has recently undergone a massive £225K refurbishment adding even more wonderful spa features to their repertoire.
As the name suggests, the setting of the Spa is in the wonderful courtyard area of The Bridge Inn, set just outside Wetherby it is our most local Spa & it is a treat to have something so wonderful on our doorstep. My best friend & I were booked on the Mojito Madness spa experience and we couldn’t be more excited when we were told we had a minty, zesty Mojito on arrival and a 45 minute Body Scrub which was sublime!
The wonderful thing about this spa is that you feel like you are a million miles away from home, quite possibly a faraway island but added with all the wonderful Yorkshire touches that us local’s love! The Special Offers were great too, but sadly, all the availability had been swiped. Included in our package was a 45 minute lime and lemongrass body scrub, followed by a rosehip and mint massage oil to moisturise the skin which was divine, I slowly slipped away to unconsciousness, it was even more dreamy than a massage!
The spa boasts an outdoor hot tub, cold plunge tub (yes I did brave it but sadly no photo evidence!), an outside Nordic Sauna, Japanese Foot Spa, a thermal steam room that smelt wonderful and an indoors sauna. The attention to detail is second to none, no expense has been spared creating a relaxing spa day!
One of our most favourite parts of the new renovations was the small Lavender Courtyard with two swinging chairs that you could just while away the time in. It was here we learnt of the Royal Baby news too!
There is a beautifully decorated Deli Cafe too, so after your spa day enjoy fresh muffins, homemade soup or even another glass of champagne! It feels so fresh & clean. It is a perfect place to relax after a good pamper session.
