3 Months till the Big Day | QueenBeady

As many of you know our impending wedding is quickly encroaching on us thick & fast. In fact, today marks the 3 months pit stop for the momentous big day.

Today is the last day for invites to arrive so I’m hoping we can crack on with the seating plan very soon. I’m receiving texts from my mum about the table

clothes (Which I would like to add is a God Send that she is sorting this!). I even have my mother-in-law to be questioning if the bridesmaids should have flowers (?!?!). It’s non stop & I imagine it is all going to continue in the same manner for the next 3 months ahead.

With most of the ”big stuff” sorted, I need a little guidance from my fellow wedded or Bride-to-be blogger friends to give me a little insight into their ”Order of Service” cards? I have absolutely NO IDEA where to start on that one. Would be great to hear from any of you who have put these together! I think a day sat on my laptop on google & pinterest is going to be the order of the day!… GET IT? That was a TERRIBLE joke.

So here is a long list of things I still need to do:

    • List of songs for the Band
    • Choose our First Dance song
    • Seating Plan
    • Times of the day
    • A list of photos I’d like our lovely Photographer, Jenny Prest to capture
    • DECORATIONS?! (A trip to hobby craft is in order!)
    • Hair trial/Make Up trial
    • PAY EVERYONE!

I’m pretty sure there will be plenty more in the pipe line, but my little brain is fried at the moment. So see ya later whilst I fester in a little wedding type pit of worry & pressure! Toodles.

  • Pre Wedding Photo Shoot with Jenny Prest | QueenBeady

Pre Wedding Photo Shoot with Jenny Prest | QueenBeady

Sunday was a day that again, both myself & my fiancé James were really NOT looking forward to. It was time to meet our photographer and have a little “Pre Wedding Photo Shoot” to get us used to the camera.

I can categorically say, this is not my partners cup of tea. AT ALL. PERIOD. END. FIN. So of course I felt nervous for him!

Our photographer is the lovely & smiley & happy faced Jenny Prest She met us at my in laws farm. It started off as a bright and sunny morning so it was look hopeful. After we had a little tour around the farm, showing her our chickens, the pony, the pigs & the sheep (and trying to hunt down James!) we set to it.

Jenny had brought a lovey heart shaped chalk board which I etched our special date on. We went all around the farm. We climbed walls, had to piggy back on Hay bales but it was so much fun! The kiss shot was pretty awkward as James & I are not ones for the whole “PDA” situation (he’s a farmers son, what do you expect?!) but Jenny made us feel so at ease.

I wanted to pick out a few photos that we absolutely LOVED! There were so many but here as just a couple of them.

Looking at the photos, I was surprised how much I liked the black & white photos. Without giving too much away our wedding day is very colourful so I didn’t want to do too much of the black & white style… I could’ve changed my mind now! (It’s much more flattering! Haha.)

We were really impressed with Jenny’s ability. She had only just started doing it full time, after realising her passion she quit her job & started her photography company! Meeting her & chatting to her (ALOT!) she has really inspired me. She’s followed her dreams & it’s working for her. I LOVE IT! If you need a photographer she is your lady!

I can’t stress enough how important it is to meet with your wedding photographer before the big day. If we hadn’t have met Jenny, I don’t think we would feel as comfortable as we do now. Plus we have a relationship with her now so she will know what we like & don’t like. So stop what you are doing all Brides to Be, call your photographer & book a pre wedding photo shoot. You’ll thank me in the long run.

  • Marriage Preparation | QueenBeady

The weekend of doom & gloom had finally arrived. We had both been dreading this weekend by & large. It was time for us to partake in “Marriage Preparation” for a full 5 hours on a gloomy Saturday. This was to be my first weekend off since December & it had to be filled with the obligatory chat with the the vicar, but wait, it’s gets better. We had to do this in front of a 20 strong crowd of other married couples to be!

So, James & I rocked up preparing us for the worst, wishing we could be elsewhere. The smiles on our faces during the introduction when they said we may be finished for 3pm (that was a lie!)

Of course we had the obligatory “how well do you know your partner” quizzes and “what do you rate to be the most important qualities” task. All very kosher stuff. However, when we all turned to page 9 we all looked a little shocked

  • To start or not to start Video Blogging? That is the question | QueenBeady

It has come to my attention that alot of people like this so called “Video Blogging” I myself have only put pen to paper (or should I say, finger to keyboard!) and have wrote the written word.

My husband to be, James has gone & bought a very fancy new laptop which has a built in web cam. So curiosity has killed the cat & I am thinking of all the wonderful techy things I can do with it & vblogging (as I have so frequently seen it referred to!) is possibly my first avenue.

With my experience of radio training I am not one to shy away from a mic but I have to say, my face in front of a camera is enough to make you run for the hills! So my question to my lovely followed & blogging friends is… Is it worth it & do you get a lot out of it. Whilst I know my blog is not the MOST established blog out there but I do hope I reach a wide audience with lots of different posts instead of pigeon holing myself down one route.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, what would you like to see/hear & how often? I’m hoping to have a play round with it next week without the beady eyes & ears of my partner, as I might get “stage fright” – I am thinking first off a nice OOTD post? I’d love to hear from you all.

  • Ring-a-Ding, We’ve got our Wedding Rings | QueenBeady

Ring-a-Ding, We’ve got our Wedding Rings | QueenBeady

Last night we went to collect our wedding rings & it was possibly one of the most exciting parts of the wedding. Our rings are what we keep after the big day & combines our love for one another for the many (happy!) years ahead of us.

I’ve always had a very clear idea of what I wanted to for my wedding band. So much so, it was easier to choose my ring than it was James.

We were put through our paces, we had a big mishap with one well known chain of jewellers, whom I shan’t mention. They basically “cocked” up our order for want of a better word so we took our business elsewhere.

I had never been one for going to many wedding fairs but we decided to go to a local one & see what the fuss was about. We met a lot of lovely people that day & vendors who were genuinely interested in our big day.

We got chatting to a gent called Iain Henderson who creates individual ring designs. We knew instantly he was the one.

A few months later we booked to have a consultation (he does evening appointments too!) and we both picked out the EXACT same rings the first time we had seen him at the wedding fair. Clearly it was fate!

When we went to collect the rings he kindly bought us a bottle of fizz & cleaned my engagement ring for me. Every step of the way has been so simple and stress free. We could not thank Iain & his team enough. He’s even won outstanding award for customer service 2013 from the wedding guide! It’s safe to say we can see why.

So all I ask is don’t always head to the high street, a bit of research and going with an independent company can pay dividends. It really has for us. So thank you Iain. Iain Henderson Ring Designs
