I know my style/OOTD posts have been quite ”sporadic” as of late, however I thought that I would put together a mood board of some my favourites pieces from the #HMLovesMusicRoadshow collection. You can read about the exciting event that our photobooth and myself were involve with last week HERE.
I literally love all things summery, especially that boho vibe. It get’s me so excited for festival season and with the YO1 Festival firmly under my belt I am in full swing festival mode!
Whilst alot of the range were quite bright and garish, I picked a few of the more subtle pieces that exuded a bit more ”class” that would be perfect for waving your arms in the air at a festival or running down the beach watching the sunset. (Drifts off in to a dreamy haze of Summery Goodness)
And finally…. STRIPES, STRIPES & MORE STRIPES. Give them to me, all of them to me. I love stripes. I have dispersed the common myth that horizontal stripes make you look fat (because I am a little chubby!) and I wear stripes all the time and don’t actually feel like a beached whale. So this cute little number is all you need, however I am not sure if I am brave enough to get my little tum tum out just yet in this off the shoulder top! http://www.hm.com/gb/product/29764?article=29764-C#campaign=2VA_DLM_part_2&campaignType=Transactional_Planned
I hope you likeed the round up guys!
Enjoy, oh and can I just remind you all….. I GET MARRIED IN TWO WEEKS TIME! So please send me your honeymoon outfit inspirations to me, pretty please!!
Today: I am currently having a breakdown. A wedding crisis. A Bridezilla moment.
All of the above, I thought I would never have or experience in the run up to the Big Day.
Okay, okay. I am no Saint, but I have always made sure I am humble human being. Never one to brag, to show off about my life, keeping my shit together as much as I possibly can even though I am just about treading water. But today everything in my little life has just dawned on me.
I get married in 41 days. It’s not a significant milestone in the countdown to the big day, in fact the 41st day nearer to our wedding is a completely bizarre date to have a complete meltdown. However, it’s just dawned on me that creating a DIY wedding in a year and a half is very hard. Some of you will be rolling your eyes at this post right now, thinking ”bloody hell what is she whining about?” But truth be told, I can imagine the old me saying EXACTLY the same thing just over a year ago.
The list of things to before the big day is slowly getting longer and the questions seem to keep going unanswered in this mind boggling event that is our wedding day. I seem no closer to working it all out, but the seconds, minutes and hours are ticking away and time is becoming a short supply.
The hairdressers are constantly trying to get more money from, the caterers are meant to be sourcing plates but don’t seem to be keeping us in the loop, the ice cream van is not replying to my questions.
I’d love to hear how some of you previous brides or current brides to be are coping or have coped with pre-wedding stress? Please let me know as I am a Bride slightly tipping the edge and it would be great to hear your hints and tips for keeping shit together!
It already feels like my first (& surprise!) hen party was a million years ago. I have been revelling in “post hen party blues” (is that a condition?) since Sunday!
My girls did a grand job of organising it & keeping the whole thing under wraps for the last year?!
After initially thinking that we were headed to Birmingham for a few weeks before… Bridie baked me cupcakes for me to organise in to the secret destination… At first I thought I was going to Manchester! Little did I know?
So of we went, bags in the car and off we tootled up the A1 to our fabulous location. No girls car journey is complete without an obligatory car selfie!
First up was a Cocktail Masterclass at Floritas which is one of the best & classiest bars in Newcastle. It was a ridiculous amount of fun. In fact, I get a little teary when I think about it because I just wish I was there again? Two teams, three cocktails – who wins?
To be honest I hardly got any photos of this because quite frankly we had far too many shots & cocktails to drink a pirate under the table!
Our butler in the buff provided the “eye candy” who happened to also be best friends with Scotty T from Geordie Shore (aptly the quote “WHO THE F@*K IS SCOTTY T?” followed this event as he is not an origggg cast mate?!)
We went to the Fat Buddha for an evening meal which was very cool. The food was lovely too! I had a Thai green curry which was so tasty. I expected it to not taste as authentic as Fat Buddha is a chain with restaurants all over the world, but it was so so so so good!
Then it was on to experience some of the nightlife. We hardy got any photos as we were extremely busy dancing our socks off in Tup Tup Palace which played the most ridiculously amazing music?
If I could rewind to that day, I would!
The next morning we filled our stomachs with a big full English and headed to the spa at the Hilton Gateshead. I had a serenity back, neck & shoulder massage which was meant to be a “nice & relaxing” massage. It started off lovely but as soon as she got to those knots, I genuinely thought I was trying to get killed?! I have only just recovered from it, some of the girls even had BRUISES from this? Can’t say it was the most relaxing massage I have ever had, so thank god for the jacuzzi, sauna & steam room to relax in!
After that we travelled back home & it was all a distant memory.
Overall I will be back Newcastle. You are just a delightful yet sinful place & I adore you.
Until my next hen party in a few weeks in York I can get repetitive strain injury scrolling through my photos and memories!
Is anyone else crushing over the new Florence & Fred Range at Tesco Clothing? I know I certainly am, so much so I tried two dresses on for my hen do. Now, when I look at these photos I really love the peach coloured dress but didn’t think it would give me much room to bust a move (which I’m pretty sure I will be doing!)
I tried on a size 12 of the Powder Blue dress (which is in the photo) but quickly decided my waist needed cinching in so I tried on the size 10 which quickly gave me more shape. I have previously declared my LOVE for this colour & it’s so easy to see why.
I love the detailing of the dress & can’t wait to wear it. I think I will pair it with these cute block shoes because the ”clompy but cute” look is everywhere at the moment! I love the V neck back as well because it is quite a conservative style dress at the front.
Now I just need to decide whether I wear it Hen do One or Hen do Two? Help me decide.
