    Wishing Well Hubiku

You may have read about our tour of Chichen Itza in my last Mexico blog post, so I see you are hungry for more. Part deux of this little trip, you might say? Okay, okay, they speak Spanish over there not French, but you catch my drift. As part of our Chichen Wonders tour with Thomson Holidays we also got to visit two more places, one of which was Hubiku, home to the popular Hubiku Cenote & the Tequila Museum, Mexico. It was in the mad heat of the day and after a whistle stop tour of the buffet dinner at Kin Restaurant, it was time to jump in to the cool waters of this natural sink hole.

    Chichen Itza

To say I fell in love with Mexico would be an understatement. We are talking about being head over heels, lustful affair with the god darn country. She is a beautiful place. From the smiling people you meet on every corner she greets you with, to the paradise-like, palm tree laden white shores that allow you to lay back and pretty much forget every bit of trouble you may have back home – I think I have found a little piece of heaven on the Riviera Maya, but then again I know that it isn’t a secret. Venture outside of the hotels and you get a glimpse in to the Mayan culture that’s hidden beyond the jungle. When creating a list of top things we would like to do when visiting Mexico in our very short week, Chichen Itza was the top of the list to explore.

    Rare London White Co-ord 1

Coat C/O Bon Marche | Two Piece Co-Ord C/O Rare London | Shoes Dorothy Perkins

Okay, okay. If there is one thing I love about myself in a physical form it has to be my legs. Why I hear you ask? Well, this year in March I started going to the gym and I couldn’t believe it when my legs started getting much more definition and I wasn’t worrying about my dreaded fat knee’s anymore. I was actually quite happy to get my legs out on show and that’s why this year I’ve embraced skirts & dresses a whole lot more. This Rare London white co-ord is one of those pieces that if you’d waved in my face a year ago you would have had me running for the hills, I’d have exclaimed ”I can’t get in to that!” and grimaced. But now, I’m feeling much more body confident and I love it when an outfit can help with that too.

    seaside staycation

There’s something so wonderful about exploring the local land. Whilst most of us dream of jetting across the waters to distant destinations, sometimes it’s quite nice to explore our own territory. Plus, where else can you get a good cup of tea other than in the UK? I was so lucky as a child to travel up and down the country with my Grandparents on holiday, my fondest memories were those spent in our static caravan in Sewerby near Bridlington though. We’d pack up the car on a Friday night after school and head up the A64 to the fresh sea air. We’d have late night fish & chips for our first supper on the promenade, with a quick walk round the amusements, pop in to the little book shop so I could pick an Enid Blyton short story book & then finish off with my favourite; a mint choc chip ice cream. It was so easy.
