Italy. Oh, Italy. You really are the destination of dreams. From your dramatic cliffs on the Amalfi Coast, to the ancient ruins of Rome and to the ever stylish streets of Capri or Milan. I adore everything about the country. However, I feel I have only scratched the surface. I’ve been blinded by its bright city lights or the crashing waves against the Neapolitan riviera and never gave the Italian countryside a second thought. Until now.

It’s safe to say that as much as I have loved so much of my content this year, I’ve not really brought it back to basics. From the photos I adore taking to the written word that goes with them, I’m always trying to create a substantial post that includes many long paragraphs. Don’t ask me why, but I’ve felt that that is the only way to be classed as a “proper blogger” and sometimes, I really don’t have to spend hours constructing a blog post but I still manage it. But I’ve felt exhausted after writing them sometimes. As I get closer and closer to my holiday, I can feel my “old self” trickling through again. The type of person who enjoys life, laughs till my belly hurts and heading on “off the cuff” days out. So, I’m dedicating this post to all the things that have made me smile recently.
After climbing up 4 flights of stairs, and thoroughly wishing we had hopped in the lift at the Victoria Gate shopping centre, when we reached the top it was safe to say I was in awe of the intricate, wooden ceiling that hung above us that it gave me a moment to catch my breath back. On a blustery Saturday, we had been invited to Issho Restaurant to experience a modern Japanese twist on Brunch I was more than ready for a glass of bubbles to quench my thirst after fearing my asthma had reared it’s ugly head again.
When we travelled to Rome back in March, I thought my travel content would be going crazy, but truth be told I took that many photos I found it difficult to sift through them and actually work out a steady stream of blog posts for you. I’m hoping now I’ve done that, slowly but surely, the posts will start coming through. But before we boarded the plane to the capital city, I had so many pre-conceived ideas about the place, that some of it I just did not expect. Views for days, rolling hills and babbling brooks. It’s easy to picture, right? Luckily for us this is all on our doorstep at Mr C’s parent’s farm just up the road from our own humble abode. Most weekend’s tend to be spent playing with kittens, running around after chickens and walking our dog alongside the beck that runs through the farm estate. Could there be any dreamier day? So what really constitutes a perfect Sunday? After all, a weekend well spent, brings a week of content…
