    Pack Light Amara

If you had told me that in December 2015 I would have been able to pack a whole weekends worth of clothes in one travel backpack for a city break to Amsterdam I would have laughed at you square in the face. Beady does not pack light. No Sirree. But, I did. I managed to pack 3 day & 3 night outfits with toiletries and shoes in to one bag. And when we go to Oslo at the end of this month we only have hand luggage again. I know some of you may be crying out in horror! How, you might ask? Well I’m going to tell you how to travel with just hand luggage…

DANIEL FOOTWEAR AND JONES THE BOOTMAKER

If you are anything like me, I need to have comfortable feet. They are the part of my body that keeps me going on long, busy days and they needed to be treated with the care & attention they deserve, so when I’m travelling to new city destinations I know my feet are gonna take a pounding. Hashtag sorry feet. So it’s only right that they are treated to the comfiest pairs of shoes to make sure that I can cope with the long days. I never want to be that person that moans ‘cos they’ve got blisters and they wanna go back to the hotel. Na-Ah! So I’ve done a little round-up to help you on your way to exploring cities in the right pair of shoes…

    Madeira House

I’m sure you will be absolutely sick to death of hearing about my trip to Madeira. What with all my blog posts, twitter updates and instagram posts I’ve not stopped banging on about it, so soz #sorrynotsorry. My last post is all about our full day Safari road trip of the East Coast, Madeira. The more rugged side of the island. We ummed and ahhed about whether we should do the East or West but after chatting with a local guide it seemed that East was more suited to what we were looking for, plus James wanted to go to one of the highest points on the island, Pico do Arieiro (I think Mr C has a serious thing for heights?)

    Nuns Valley Church

Stunning. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Breath taking. Just a few of the words I have used time and time again to describe Madeira. I feel like a walking cliché whenever I use them but it’s just so hard not to fall in love with an Island that offers so much beauty with every step you take. It’s a diverse island, from the Sunny & golden Beached South West to the Luscious, green East side there is always something or somewhere to go not too far away. Half way through our trip to Madeira we took a half day trip to Nuns Valley – one of the highest points on the island with fear inducing drops…

    toboggan

As I write this I still can’t quite believe it’s a little over a month since we got back from Madeira, Portugal. I have previously written a post giving you 5 reasons why you need to go to Madeira shortly after I returned to keep the holiday alive that I won with icelolly.com at the 2015 #BlogAtTheBeach event. I suppose I have put off writing this post as a way to bring it back to life a month or so later, just so I don’t forget about it. My main comment to anyone who asked me “How was Madeira?” I simply replied with my overused, almost rehearsed answer, “It is somewhere that you never think of going, but it just blows you away when you are there.” It’s no lie that Mr C & I have both fallen hook, line & sinker for this Portuguese Island, namely because of the food we ate whilst there (on another level! Preach it!)
