Okay, okay, let me just clear one thing up. My Quagmire chin cannot be ignored in this post. It’s pretty huge & rather unsightly. But you know what, I rolled my socks up and carried on. I took these photos feeling pretty low, wondering if the pain of jaw would ever go and if my face would ever return to normal. It’s say to say that as I write this it hasn’t been too bad. I completely digress from the post itself and it’s a pretty “androgynous” look from me today that I’m sharing with you. But I want to bestow my inside info that minimalist dressing does not have to cost an absolute fortune.
I hate to sound smug and be that guy, but this whole “mindfulness” thing is working out for me. Never have I felt so “in the now” and enjoying each day. I have hardly thought about the weekend (and we had a jam packed weekend away to look forward to!) that I actually feel like each day really is bringing me something meaningful, despite having to get up for work each day. I was so skeptical of how it would work for me, but it genuinely has made me feel wonderful. I read Sophie’s blog about “self diagnosing anxiety” – I am the same, and whilst I’ve never been to the docs about it, I know hand on heart it is something I have and do have to deal with on a daily basis. The moment my chest tightens and I struggle to take controlled breaths because of one quick, irrational thought I’d feel sick. Now, I take a moment, breath in and out and really concentrate on a positive thought. I can’t tell you how much that has helped me.
This post is not just about blogs that I loved in 2015, but probably blogs that I will love until well, forever. Their content is always so engaging that I want to come back for more but all for different reasons. So get settled with a cuppa and a few biccies, some you might already know. Others, you may not and might want to start reading. Like NOW!
When River Island got in touch with me to take part in their Secret Santa it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. Tasked with choosing 3 blogger babes that I love and matching them with a pack, one of the lucky three would be gifted with lots of River Island Treats from their gift section. Now, I can’t tell you who received my Secret Santa because of course, that would defeat the whole object of Secret Santa.
I’ve said many times on social media and even wrote about it here, that I just don’t seem to be able to get in to the Festive spirit this year. It’s not that I’m a scrooge – I love embracing Christmas. Decorating the Christmas tree, all the chocolate (and I mean alllll the chocolate) and big fat roasts to devour. There’s nothing I enjoy more than a cosy weekend indulging in all things Christmas. I’ve just clicked on to Facebook and funnily enough, someone else has just posted a status about not feeling Christmassy this year too. It looks like I’m not the only one. But, I think I’ve finally put my finger on it.
