I’m currently working on my blog on a Saturday morning and trying to keep the channels off the news. It’s not that I’m not interested in the painful Paris attack, far from it, I just can’t cope with all the pain and atrocities that seem to be happening all too frequent recently. Even the whiny-voiced characters on the Simpsons is more soothing. What is typically a French inspired outfit I wore the other day, it’s hard not to address and touch slightly on the delicate matter of those who lost their lives in such a horrendous way on Saturday night. I guess I feel like writing about style or fashion is my way of sheltering myself from this awful world we live in. But I know deep in my heart, I’m thinking of you. I’m thinking of you all.

    Plusnet BFI Blockbuster Season

You know when you look outside and the weather is just grim and there’s not a lot you can really do, especially for someone who likes to be outdoors just like me, that the only thing on the agenda is a good movie night in. The guys at PlusNet and the BFI are celebrating blockbuster season right through from September to December so it seemed the perfect opportunity to put on a film and get some popcorn in the microwave. When it get’s halfway through the month and funds are a little tight, dimming the lights and putting on a good film is a great idea for a date night that doesn’t cost the earth. All you need to do is get some candles lit, the fire toasted up & a big duvet and you will be all set to go.

It was my husband’s final race of the season and we spent the weekend at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire. It was a hoot as always, plus the spectators café was the best one we’ve been to so far. James assures me he loved the track and it was easy to see why with all the twists and turns, along with hills and dips galore. As a (long-suffering) race widow I need to make sure that at all times I’m wearing the cosiest attired – especially for the Winter meets. The ever old-faithful ASOS helped out because I’ve been dying for some bright white sneakers for some time. I love sharing these super casual, weekend wear looks on my blog too because they are so easy to achieve!

A home town is somewhere that you grew up in, somewhere you most likely feel very close to. You’ll defend it’s name in honour. That’s how I feel about York, but hey, who on earth has a bad thing to say about York anyway. I am so lucky to call this place my hometown and growing up in this beautiful city is something I’m truly thankful for. You see, unlike many other towns or cities I breath in the air and it still feels fresh. Not polluted or filled with toxic gasses unlike many other large towns. You see I love this place. Plain and simple. It has everything you could possibly want from it’s beautiful architecture round every corner to the rich history, from the wonderful family parks and the River Ouse that snakes through the centre. Oh, and did I mention the shopping?
