How does it happen, one moment you’re a kid hanging out at your local park spending your pocket money on jawbreakers (just me?) and the next you are catapulted in to being this fully grown, responsible adult that has to go out and work and pretty much fend for yourself? Is it just me or is that pretty scary? Here are the many thoughts and feels that I go through on a daily basis about adulting!

If there is one thing in life that I thoroughly recommend that anyone do, it would be simple. Travel. T R A V E L. Travel close to home, head across the waters, but make sure you travel outside of your own little bubble. For me, it gave me so much more confidence. I’m not talking about quitting my job and travelling the world (but lets face it, given the choice I think I know I would definitely pack up & go.) I’m just talking about getting on a plane for a weekend, a week or even two and exploring lands that you never normally would. I’ve got a run down of some of the places that I am dying to travel to and ClickStay makes it easier than ever to search for accommodation too.

Okay, okay, let me just clear one thing up. My Quagmire chin cannot be ignored in this post. It’s pretty huge & rather unsightly. But you know what, I rolled my socks up and carried on. I took these photos feeling pretty low, wondering if the pain of jaw would ever go and if my face would ever return to normal. It’s say to say that as I write this it hasn’t been too bad. I completely digress from the post itself and it’s a pretty “androgynous” look from me today that I’m sharing with you. But I want to bestow my inside info that minimalist dressing does not have to cost an absolute fortune.

    Flowers in Lobby

When an email lands in your inbox inviting you to come & try out a luxury hotel, the silly thing to do would be say no. So thank goodness I didn’t. I love travelling abroad as you’ll see from previous posts but I also love a long weekend away in the UK too. I had the pleasure of visiting the Hotel La Tour, Birmingham last weekend to review what the place had to offer. Now, I’ll be completely honest I wasn’t really taken with Birmingham itself (except of course, FOUR FLOORS OF SELFRIDGES, am I right?) It was a good two hour and a bit hours drive so we were starved. We picked up our first ever Five Guys, which in itself was worth the effort.

When I look at accounts like Shot from the Street and Me & Orla on Instagram, I sigh. I sigh because they just do “minimalism” so well, and well I, I don’t do it all that good. Every now & then I have a breakthrough though, a garment that I firmly place in my wardrobe which I look at and think “yes, you are the one that I’m going to be able to wear all the time & you will never ever let me down now, will you?” and then I stroke it gently for being so good. And, it’s so great because generally do stay in my life – A turtleneck is for life, not just for Christmas. Then I look to my left and then there’s a pile of well, shit.
