    Our local village has become a thriving little place to be. Boston Spa was always considered as either for the rich and stuffy, or the working class. There was no in between. With the demise of local eateries and a few pubs, our village began to look a little desolate. Fast forward a few years later and the high street is now filled with gorgeous new spots where I can a) get my coffee fix and b) EAT ALL THE BRUNCH. Because we all know how much I love brunch. Regeneration is fabulous thing and we are reaping the benefits because that is where Tom Foolery comes in.

    Hey, I’m just warning you. This post might be a little heavy but I think its about time I share my thoughts and feelings surrounding this. Thanks to Vix Meldrew I only just realised why I am, the way I am. I’ve always known I’ve had daddy issues, but I’ve never related my actions to that feeling. You see, a little fact about me, I didn’t know my sperm donor (that is what we will refer to him as) until I was nearly 14. After an unsuccessful kidnapping attempt of me whilst my mum had a procedure in hospital, that was the last time he would ever see me till my teen years.

    What constitutes the perfect city break outfit? To be honest, I don’t actually know. But I do know what works for me. For those who were living under a rock (because I was practically shouting from the rooftops) I was in Rome last week. Early March. We weren’t sure whether we’d really thought the dates through or not when it edged closer and closer and the weather reports kept changing every day between sunshine and rain. So what is one to pack when they are heading on a city break where the weather might be inclement?

    I don’t know why I’ve not done this before. Instagram is such a huge part of my life & blog that it strikes me as odd that I’ve never done any travel posts like this. Instagram is such a great tool for sharing snippets out of your day, be it fashion outfits, travel experiences or even a banging avo on toast post (I’m a poet, don’t I know it) and recently when I headed to Rome I could not stop myself from snapping away all the amazing sights that the beautiful, historic city has to offer.

    OH BOY. Have I been living life in the fast lane recently? Life shows no signs of slowing down and I wrote about how I was feeling here. Luckily, I have a weekend away in Rome to look forward to this week, but not before a whistle stop tour down to London with work. A couple of weeks ago we headed to Darwin Escape’s own holiday resort in Keswick which gave me a couple of days to recharge my batteries in a different environment. But, I totally got the “Smonday feels” on the Sunday as I had a delightful wake up call of 4am on the Monday morning. So, to make the most of our weekend break to we took a nice, leisurely stroll in to Keswick town centre, complete with the lushest brunch you could imagine. (more…)
