    When we travelled to Rome back in March, I thought my travel content would be going crazy, but truth be told I took that many photos I found it difficult to sift through them and actually work out a steady stream of blog posts for you. I’m hoping now I’ve done that, slowly but surely, the posts will start coming through. But before we boarded the plane to the capital city, I had so many pre-conceived ideas about the place, that some of it I just did not expect.     I often look at my house, and as much as I love it, I get pretty frustrated with it. We live in a reasonable 2 up/2 down with a sizeable garden which we are forever grateful for. But for the most part, I feel like we haven’t really made it a “home” in all the of the 7 years of being there. Often, I prefer to spend money on meals out and going on holidays. Which is when I came to the realisation that I spend money on doing things that don’t involve staying in our house and that really needs to change.

    Views for days, rolling hills and babbling brooks. It’s easy to picture, right? Luckily for us this is all on our doorstep at Mr C’s parent’s farm just up the road from our own humble abode. Most weekend’s tend to be spent playing with kittens, running around after chickens and walking our dog alongside the beck that runs through the farm estate. Could there be any dreamier day? So what really constitutes a perfect Sunday? After all, a weekend well spent, brings a week of content…

    I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t manage to bosh all of Girl Boss on Netflix in less than 2 days. It’s an addictive series. The tale of Sophia Amuruso, the creator of Nasty Gal is one of those rags to riches stories where there’s some amazing high and some ridiculous lows. Maybe it’s kinda cos I have a bit of a girl crush on Britt Robertson – hello epic style and bangs that blow my mind? It’s a show that you feel pretty invested in if you make it past the first couple of episodes. Oh & yeah I did cry during the season finale. I blame the hormones. Whatever reason you watched it, there are some pretty valuable lessons to be learnt from it.

    For a long time I’ve found myself a bit of a “half empty” kinda person. As much as I hate to admit it, I’m always living on the edge of caution. Worrying about the “ifs” and the “buts” and the “oh my goodness, something terrible will happen if we do this.” To be honest, sometimes it’s pretty draining to be in my own head. That’s why this Summer I’m trying to make a habit of getting myself out of that little rut I have found myself in. I recently went to Blog At The Beach with icelolly.com and Jen Lowthrop presented a talk on “doing fun things when we work full time and releasing our inner fun.” It really opened my eyes to the kinds of possibilities that would turn me more in to the “half full” kinda gal I wanna be!
