    Our local village has become a thriving little place to be. Boston Spa was always considered as either for the rich and stuffy, or the working class. There was no in between. With the demise of local eateries and a few pubs, our village began to look a little desolate. Fast forward a few years later and the high street is now filled with gorgeous new spots where I can a) get my coffee fix and b) EAT ALL THE BRUNCH. Because we all know how much I love brunch. Regeneration is fabulous thing and we are reaping the benefits because that is where Tom Foolery comes in.

    Gosh, I really do seem to be very up and down on my blog as of late. I’m finally getting to a really good place in life. My relationship just feels so wonderful at the moment, work is going really well and my mental health is on the incline after finally accepting and getting help. Despite all of the above I’ve been ever so quiet on Twitter and Instagram recently. It’s been really nice just living in the now and not having to work to too many deadlines or feeling like I need to be connected to world wide web all the time.

    I was called “very strong-willed” the other day. It’s very far away from the view I have of myself to be honest. I just see myself as a panicky, over-thinking, late-twenty year old mess. But then, I got thinking about it. Maybe I actually am quite “strong” – because some of the things I have to put up with, which for the purposes of this blog I will not actually go in to detail, a lot of people probably would have said a big “F U” to, many, many, maaaaaany moons ago. The same person who said I was “strong-willed” I actually stood up for the other day in a slightly heated discussion. One where it felt like they were getting the blame for something that in all it’s entirety was not their fault. So yes, I sat back and thought deeply (yeah ‘cos I am deep & shit!) and came to conclusion that actually yes, maybe I am.

    It’s time for one of those chatty little posts where I really ramble. A bit of “word vomit” if you may. So grab a cuppa like me and get settled. It’s been a while since I sat down & thought “Wow, my life is pretty sweet.” It’s a sorry state of affairs when you start to forget to appreciate the good things in life and quite simply it can really wear you down. I’m notoriously terrible in January and February. I think there is a little bit of Seasonal Affective Disorder in us all. When the dark night’s start appearing you still have Halloween, Bonfire Night & Christmas to look forward to. Once January hits it’s a little bit gloomy for me. But now, now I’ve had my holiday to Madeira and the nights are getting lighter I feel a million times better.

    It’s well & truly Autumn. The nights are drawing in a lot earlier, the leaves are starting to turn and there is a certain chill in the morning air. I’m one of those people that has a love/hate relationship with Autumn. It’s my birthday soon & I love all the celebrations that come in the latter part of the year but the lack of sunshine and daylight is not something that appeases me. There is something good that comes from the cooler months though and it’s the start of a winter wardrobe. It’s kind of like a full refresh of my closet because the big jumpers come out and layers start appearing, there’s things I uncover that I forgot I had.
