This weeks post is only a short one as all the links do the talking (plus I just tried posting this & wordpress decided to delete it?!)
I was so excited when Wear Eponymous chose me to be their BOTW. So you might be asking who W.E are? Well, they are a fabulous company that create classic key pieces that every girl should own. From the tailored dress to the classic cigarette pants (which I happen to adore!) they have something that is always timeless.
Not only do they gorgeous fashion they also help aspiring bloggers (like myself!) get noticed. But there is also something else which is rather special that is in the pipeline. They are working on a collaboration with the super talented Laura Sherriffs. All the bloggers were falling over their feet when they gave us a sneaky peak of what was to come. I certainly can’t wait!
So go put the kettle on, make yourself a good cup of tea, sit back and read my Q&A here and have a right royal belly laugh at my (horrendous) childhood faux pas photo. Enjoy.
Today was my final day in travel. I’ve been in travel since I was 17 & I’m nearly 25 so the last 8 years have been devoted to learning about new destinations and the new cruise ships & aircraft that have entered the market.
It’s going to be weird not being the in the know but now I will be able to afford to go on all these pretty holidays rather than dream about them whilst I sell it to another (very rude or undeserving!) customer. Don’t get me wrong, I have some clients that are now find friends – one whom I affectionately call “Grandad”. So I do have some fond memories
I’ve been thoroughly spoilt by my colleagues today as you can see above. So much pretty for one photo, don’t you think? My favourite sits pretty there, Prosecco! All I can say is NOM NOM!
I’ve had to change careers to better myself & also do something that I’ve never done before (but have never been given the chance!) – so what I’m saying to you all is Never give up (& never look back – Haim quote right there BABY!) Always keep trying. Something will always pop up eventually that will take you by surprise. I realise I’m starting to sound like a condescending life guru right now? So I will shut up.
It’s a gorgeous spring day & what better way to spend it than bringing my lovely readers a little OOTD? Please excuse the slight podge (wedding diet is NOT going well, obviously!)
My love love affair with eBay and charity shops is through the roof & when I put some of my finds together I couldn’t believe how well they fitted the SS14 trends this year?
(Oh & yes that is my gorgeous doggy running around like a loony in the background!)
TOP Zara
TROUSERS Julie Mitchell
NECKLACE Claire’s Accessories
SHOES New Look
BAG Zara
My favourite find was these pair of gingham trousers! I found then on the £1 rail in a local charity shop. Let me repeat that, ONE WHOLE ENGLISH STIRLING POUND! Yes, you heard me right that time. It really pays dividend to trawl charity shops because you will become a cropper & find something amazing!
My top was an eBay find and I got that for £2.99 from Zara. Hardly worn & bang on trend with the pastel themes we are seeing everywhere at the moment.
& of course. My lovely Zara city shopper bag. My beautiful bag that is just almost too gorgeous for words, she literally comes everywhere with me. She was a splurge (courtesy of my darling husband to be! A short quick paddy & she was mine. Yes, I am princess!)
So do you like this style? If love to hear from you if you do!
I was so lucky to receive a pair of Dr Martens from the Aila range in Cherry Red from Cloggs UK (*). After an initial mix up thinking I had ordered the ”off white” I was actually really pleased that I had accidentallyordered the ”cherry red” version.
So of course, I was eager to style the shoes with three outfits but first let me tell you about these gorgeousshoes! I’ve never owned a pair of Dr.Martens and I have never desired to, however I have been lusting after a new pair of brogues for my new job & I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try a pair so off I searched CLOGGS UK website. They offer a wide range of shoes from Vans to Uggs, from Converse to Barbour, you will be spoilt for choice. After placing my order the shoes were despatched straight away & reached me on Saturday morning (which was less than 24 hours!) I was so excited when I opened them and I was met with a beautiful surprise. Whilst clonky they still ooze a feministic style. The cherry red would suit any outfit & I’ve struggled trying to find something that doesn’t go with them. At £124.99 you are most definitely getting a pair of long lasting shoes.
Today I bring you the third & final instalment of my outfit inspiration posts on those super talented sisters, Haim. Last but not least is Alana – who is often referred to as Baby Haim. She’s the youngest of the band and exudes playfulness both on stage & off.
I would say Alana’s style is very much the wacky one. As the youngest this is probably why it reflects that the most. She is not afraid to get colourful and show off a bit of leg in her trademark short shorts!
So let me take you on another style journey after trawling the Internet I think I put together the perfect outfit.
1.This varsity style jacket is an absolute bargain from River Island and personifies Alana. She does occasionally wear the Haims trademark leather jacket like her sisters but your tend to see her in more lighter jackets like this one. In the sale at on £20 you’d be mad not to buy it!
2.PAISLEY PRINT! Not only am I a huuuuge fan of this print & style it is so on point with Alana’s fashion sense. This will be seen all over the festival circuit this year. You can pick up this in time for the summer season from Topshop at a slightly pricier £36.
3.Alana wouldn’t be Alana if she wasn’t wearing some really short shorts! I picked these ones because I loved the floral pattern of the pockets that were peaking out at the bottom. From New Look they only cost £14.99. What a bargain?
4.EEEEK! Look at these beauties? What dreams are made of? These Dr Martens are from Cloggs UK & are the pricier end of the scale at £124.99 but you know you will probably get the quality from a well known brand. I’m awaiting a pair of these beauties so I almost feel like I could be Baby Haims twin!
5.This super cute swallow necklace is fabulous. It’s very delicate and it’s not too over the top. I think this would just finish the look off perfectly! This can be found at Boohoo at a very lovely price of £5.
So there you have it Alana Haims style from the high street & the last in this series posts. I will no doubt be using this style inspiration for another set of posts soon. I’d love to hear if you want to challenge me to create someone’s style as well – so please leave a comment below!
