    Down on’t Farm | QueenBeady

So, I have FINALLY invested in a bridge camera so I can take awesome photos. Whilst I am no expert I think I have picked it up pretty quickly.

I’ve invested in a Fujifilm Finepix S9400W which is the most up to date bridge camera that Fujifilm has released.

Whilst I’m still yet to get to grips with everything and all the different settings I have enjoyed taking it out and testing it down on the farm.

I’ve had so much fun. And, let’s be honest being able to play on the farm is certainly a great place to test my skills out.

  • Outfit Inspiration with HM Loves Music Roadshow | QueenBeady

Hello to all my lovely followers!

I know my style/OOTD posts have been quite ”sporadic” as of late, however I thought that I would put together a mood board of some my favourites pieces from the #HMLovesMusicRoadshow collection. You can read about the exciting event that our photobooth and myself were involve with last week HERE.

    Image

I literally love all things summery, especially that boho vibe. It get’s me so excited for festival season and with the YO1 Festival firmly under my belt I am in full swing festival mode!

Whilst alot of the range were quite bright and garish, I picked a few of the more subtle pieces that exuded a bit more ”class” that would be perfect for waving your arms in the air at a festival or running down the beach watching the sunset. (Drifts off in to a dreamy haze of Summery Goodness)

The super cool Palazzo pants are so effortlessly chic, I can almost imagine sipping a G&T on the marina in the Cote D’Azur in these. A must have for summer  http://www.hm.com/gb/product/27529?article=27529-B#campaign=2VA_DLM_part_2&campaignType=Transactional_Planned

The Kimono is EVERYWHERE this year. You can’t run & you certainly can’t hide. The 1970’s Woodstock movement is to blame for this and I can’t deny my love for it any longer. Perfect for a breezy night when you don’t want anything too heavy http://www.hm.com/gb/product/26646?article=26646-B#campaign=2VA_DLM_part_2&campaignType=Transactional_Planned

What’s summer or a festival without a few flowers in your hair? Exactly, I see you all nodding in agreement with me! I love the pastel pinks in this and quite frankly you should all go buy it and dance in the streets! http://www.hm.com/gb/product/27911?article=27911-A#campaign=2VA_DLM_part_2&campaignType=Transactional_Planned

DUNGAREES!!!! I can finally relive my circa 1990 outfits? What an earth was my momma thinking, but you know what who cares if you look a little STUPID? Because I can feel like a little kid again in these super cute dungarees! http://www.hm.com/gb/product/28725?article=28725-A#campaign=2VA_DLM_part_2&campaignType=Transactional_Planned

And finally…. STRIPES, STRIPES & MORE STRIPES. Give them to me, all of them to me. I love stripes. I have dispersed the common myth that horizontal stripes make you look fat (because I am a little chubby!) and I wear stripes all the time and don’t actually feel like a beached whale. So this cute little number is all you need, however I am not sure if I am brave enough to get my little tum tum out just yet in this off the shoulder top! http://www.hm.com/gb/product/29764?article=29764-C#campaign=2VA_DLM_part_2&campaignType=Transactional_Planned

I hope you likeed the round up guys!

Enjoy, oh and can I just remind you all….. I GET MARRIED IN TWO WEEKS TIME! So please send me your honeymoon outfit inspirations to me, pretty please!!

Some of you may, or may not know that I work for a really cool company that hires out photo booths and some crazy fun experiential marketing.

This week I got to be part of an event at H&M Leeds Briggate which was in aid of #HMLovesMusicRoadshow. This is all about the music-come-fashion collab, that we see so very often. The edgy range is aimed at the festival goers and the music lovers out there that are inspired by neon colours, short shorts and flowers in your hair! And what’s more Alexander Wang is the muse behind the madness, so you can expect greatness from this amazing collaboration between high end & high street!

Some of you will know that the roadshow hit Coachella in April this year with this announcement, and what an awesome place to let the world know? NB: Remember to buy a coachella ticket for next year!!

So, back to the event in hand; our photo booth looked totally AWESOME! With our props all ready to go we were all ready for action for a full day entertaining the shoppers of Leeds on this gorgeous, sunny Friday.

I invited lots of lovely bloggers to the event to come say “hi” but most of you were working! (WAAAAA!) So not only were we there we had some fun guys from Radio Aire playing the tunes during their DJ sets, discount cards, Manicures & Mini makeovers.

    It was so much fun!

So of course, I had to have a go…..

What would the job be if you couldn’t have this much fun?

Most of you will think I’m biased when I say this but my sister is SUPER TALENTED!. It makes me so jealous when I see her next creation. She just never stops growing when it comes to art. Okay, so I’m gushing like a typical older sister but I genuinely think she is amazing at what she does. Firstly you should check her Facebook page here and see for yourself! She kindly let me grill her!

What inspires you to draw/paint and paint?
My inspiration comes from colourful and weird architectural buildings. I like to turn them into my own quirky style buildings with elements of my own designs within them. I also love to draw desserts, I’m drawn in by their shapes and the forms that they take and the details of the small colourful fruits and decorations on top. I love the simplicity of how I can draw these buildings and desserts and still make them fun, detailed and my own.

What’s your favourite illustration you have created so far?
I don’t have a particular favourite illustration so far, as I love all my work and I have many more to develop. But I would say one of my illustrations that I’m most fond of at the moment is my black and white, Black rock cafe piece. This piece is for my FMP (final major project) for college. I will be producing and illustrating my storyboard on different surfaces such as wood, porcelain teapots, fabric etc.

    What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become a professional illustrator, writer and graphic designer. One day I’d love to see my designs on cards, magazines, bags, wallpapers, curtains, fashion, all sorts really!

I’m sure everyone wants to know what your favourite style is, so what is your favourite outfit?
My style is very grunge like, but I have started taking a liking to the bohemian style. My favourite outfit would have to be my Kate Tartan Oversized Smock Dress and my burgundy Maddy Buckled Chunky Ankle Boots. My one accessory that I never leave the house without is my red hand of Fatima bracelet.

Any advice to any aspiring artists out there?
The Advice I would give to any aspiring artists out there from experience is to go to an art college (or any college that studies art), study artists and become inspired by their work and become motivated to be creative. Keep practising your signature style until you realise that the way you draw/paint makes you happy and proud. It does take some time to find your unique style, and it will take years to develop it. But it will be worth it in the end.

So what are you waiting for? – GO SEE HER FACEBOOK PAGE?!

  • My First Week | QueenBeady

    My First Week | QueenBeady

Firstly, I’m sorry dear followers for the lack of posts this week.

This is of course down to my first full week of my new job! I have had the BEST WEEK EVER! I can’t remember the last time I came home from work happy for 5 consecutive nights in a row? I’m pretty sure it will stay the same for quite some time!

I feel passionate about what we offer for a start, people want to talk about the amazing products we offer & it’s so easy to see why!

Photobooths are the ultimate craze for any event & they are so much fun! So if you need one for your event it would be great to hear from you. My new colleague & I attended a wedding fair and had so much in the booth ourselves we forgot we were ACTUALLY WORKING. When do you ever feel like that at work?

    20140405-172136.jpg

There are loads of other things we do as well! Experiential marketing is quite clearly the way forward, our hashtag wall is pretty awesome! If you are a lover of Instagram you’ll love this one!

I’m so glad I was given this opportunity to get in to an industry that I didn’t even have any form of qualifications for. I’m ever grateful for that chance, I’m grabbing it with both hands & I’m going to succeed (I hope?! Ha.)

The future is looking great & with the wedding only two months away I could not be any happier!
