    I have to say that using my MoveGB membership has been a dream over the last couple of months. I’ve tried rock climbing in Sheffield and been to various classes on my doorstep that I would never have tried if I had paid per class. You see, this membership has been fabulous to get my teeth in to various activities I wouldn’t normally try – the possibilities are endless. However, the one thing that has drawn me to the membership even more so, is the fact you can use it to head to local spa’s. Can I get an amen?

    My mission for 2019 was to say yes to things that scare me. As you may have seen on my Instagram Stories I’m working with #MoveGB as a Brand Ambassador which meant I could start saying those “yes’” immediately in January. You see, this awesome gym membership doesn’t just include your traditional gyms, each plan is pretty unique, and extremely flexible – it doesn’t just get you access to one gym, but in fact to thousands of different venues that offer some sort of exercise or sports programme which is the beauty of it. We love the outdoors so we decided to give Rock Climbing a whirl with our first use of the MoveGB membership! We are absolute novices so wanted to impart some of my first-time knowledge with anyone who might be thinking of taking up Rock Climbing as a hobby.     I am ever so proud to call York my hometown. Born and bred in this city, I beam when I tell someone this little piece of news.

    It’s steeped in so much rich history that it’s hard not to get lost down cobbled streets and find yourself in old castles and towers that are within a few hundred yards of one another. It’s so different to your usual UK city break because you feel like you’ve stepped back in time ever so slightly, it provides that sort of escapism I think we all need from time to time.

    With bars, hotels and more popping up all over the place I wanted to let you in on some of the best kept secrets that are hidden behind those city walls!

    A COSY, COUNTRYSIDE B&B IN YORKSHIRE: THE RED LION MANOR HOUSE, BURNSALL

    If I ever mention The Red Lion in Burnsall in passing, it is always met with a big grin and a simple – “oh gosh, I love it there.”

    If you’re from Yorkshire you’re most likely to have parked up near the green, trudged along the river that runs along the hotel and had a picnic and ice cream with your family on a hot, summers day. It’s one of those unspoilt spots in the area and despite being popular, never loses its charm. It’s a firm favourite and a day out that just keeps on giving!

    We found ourselves staying over for the night as we had a family wedding in December – it was the perfect opportunity to stay the night and enjoy the Yorkshire Dales (one of our fave spots in the region!)

    The mind boggles when people yearn for the city life, the hustle and bustle of a busy town, the unlimited and endless things you can do. I however, am completely, 100% all about switching off and being away from it all. There’s something pretty special about being able to get out in nature and strip back everything and just get back to basics. I learnt a lot about myself when we visited the North Star Club in 2017 and how I think I’d be pretty happy in my own little hut in the middle of a forest.
