    Let’s face it, holidays and travelling can be bloody expensive. Sometimes budget doesn’t allow and other times money just has to be spent on “adultier” purchases. Some of us might not be as lucky to be able to hop on a plane every few months so it’s hard to not let the wanderlust hit you hard from time to time. (Especially with every Tom, Dick & Harry blogger currently jetting off to far flung destinations right now!) With Summer coming up, it’s a great way to try bring those holiday vibes in to our lives without having to cross any pond to do so. So, what can we do to make sure we get all the holiday feels in our lives? I got some great ideas for you.

    Of course this post comes in the wake of a huge outing of Bloggers / ‘Grammers who decided to cheat the system. By buying fake followers, enlisting bots to comment and like posts and totally abusing the follow/unfollow method (which in my eyes, is terribly shady) they climbed to the top, wangled holidays to far-flung destinations and worked with dream brands. It’s safe to say that the Blogosphere was fuming and I was one of them. As someone who works bloody hard on both my Blog and Instagram content, by growing organically, it really takes the biscuit when other’s haven’t put in the hard work. I don’t want to jump on the bandwagon too much, which is why I tried to put a positive spin on it…

    DISCOVER YORKSHIRE + WIN WITH SYKES COTTAGES* | QUEENBEADY

    I am Yorkshire, through and through. This place makes my heart sing. With gorgeous scenery from the Dales to the Moors, with vibrant, cosmopolitan cities such as Leeds & York. Even the lesser known beauties such as Ilkey Moor, Wakefield Sculpture Park and more. There is without a doubt something to tickle everyone’s fancy. Growing up we spent a lot of time in our caravan in a little place called, Sowerby which is just up the road from Bridlington. We’d spend days heading to Whitby, Filey and Flamborough Head and getting ice-cream drunk and eating fresh fish & chips. The simplicity of it all is exactly what I love about holidaying here in the UK!

    Who doesn’t love a good ol’ shopping spree? Not me, that’s for certain! With any opportunity to give my plastic some serious thrashing, I am always ready & raring to go. Ya feel me? And when White Rose, Leeds asked me to style three mannequins for their 20th Birthday Celebrations, I could not have been more involved if I had tried. To celebrate them opening in ’97 (I will have been 7. Yes, 7 years old) we were given £97 per mannequin to create three unique looks. The sheer prospect of it was enough to make me giddy.

    Hands up if you love nothing more than a bacon sandwich for breakfast? I know I’m guilty of it. I’m always looking for healthier ways to start the day (ahem, belgian hot chocolates do not count just because they are “liquid”) So when Good Grain wanted to challenge me to a 5 ways, 5 days challenge of creating different breakfasts with their puffed rice & wheat cereals I was more than up for the #Grainspiration challenge. Using some of their own ideas and incorporating some of mine, my week long challenge was about to begin…
