I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but recently I have done away with my tripod. No longer am I taking photos by myself before I head out, all alone, trying to ”werk it” with no encouragement. It sounds stupid but it’s damn hard to try and work it when you have absolutely no clue what it looks like on the other side. A couple of weeks ago I took the plunge. I asked my sister to do my blog photos for me. Little did I know just how much easier it would begin to be, with someone being able to tell you what you look like, what’s working and what’s not is not only making my photos a damn sight better, it’s actually bolstering my confidence in bucket loads.

I’m a country girl at heart. Yes the fast paced city is exciting and overly indulgent, but there is nothing quite like the open-air and the relaxing countryside to really put the wind in your sails. I’m also very lucky that I am married to a Farmers son, so weekends are spent ”down the yard” collecting eggs from the chickens, feeding pet lambs and watching the piglets and calves all run around. It’s a pretty spectacular lifestyle to be a part of. With the wonderful country life, you need to have the right attire and to be prepared for all the seasons too. I have invested in various pairs of Hunter wellington boots and a wax Barbour jacket for such days. I’ve never really looked any further with their range but I was delighted to find a variety of summer pieces that could fill my ever-growing wardrobe.

Anniversary Weekend at Otley Chevin Country Hotel & Spa | QueenBeady

Otley Chevin Country Hotel and Spa

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty bummed that we hadn’t made any elaborate plans for our 1st wedding anniversary on Sunday. I knew we would go out to dinner but for some reason this just was not getting my pulse going. I needed something a little more luxurious that wasn’t going to break the bank. I turned to Mr C & I said; ”Please can we just see if there are any dinner, bed & breakfast deals somewhere?” bearing in mind this was 2.30pm on the day of our anniversary. I was determined we weren’t just going to let it pass by. Granted, Mr C had gone out and bought me some of the most beautiful flowers and yes, his card actually made me weep the morning I opened it as he put something ”semi-romantic” in it, which in my eyes means a lot coming from someone who isn’t quite the most romantic man in the world. We had off-loaded the dog already so I needed something, anything!

Yorkshire Bloggers Meet at Bundobust, Leeds | QueenBeady

    Bundobust Leeds 4

If there is one thing that is on my mind constantly (no, not that you dirty buggars!) it’s food. Food is pretty much all I think about. After all, it is what keeps you alive & kicking. So when the #YorkshireBloggers meet was taking shape for the May meet by the lovely Fran at A Style Creative and the words food were involved. I was allll over it like a rash. I’m a girl who likes her meat (okay, I will try stop with the innuendo’s here, but you stop being naughty pasty’s too!) so I was extremely sceptical over the suggested venue, Bundobust Leeds. It’s a vegetarian spot that caters its guests with foreign curries and Indian style market food along with delicious and unique craft beers too. When looking at the menu though, I needn’t have worried!

13.10pm. I know the time specifically because only 5 minutes before our good friend and one of our ushers was trying to force a pint of Stella down my neck before we set off in the wedding car. I can’t say that this was my finest moment and not quite how I had expected it to all start. This post marks exactly 365 days of marriage & since I walked up the aisle to meet my future Husband. Funnily enough days before my heart was racing in the same spot whilst we did a rehearsal of the wedding. Strangely my heart wasn’t pumping in quite the same, scary way. It felt natural. The last 2 years of planning had been a momentous affair. From the venue, to the food, to the bridesmaid dresses. Everything was from scratch so everything took meticulous planning to make sure everything ran smoothly. Suffice to say, it did. Without a hiccup. I was ready to finally do it & I had been since the 26th October 2012 (the day he proposed.)
