“This photo might look promising, however my life felt like it was hanging in the balance as my feet/ shoes wouldn’t hang on to the railings”

Firstly, merry Christmas. I hope the big man in a red suit brought you everything your hearts desired. I’m still feeling in the giving mood today so stay with me here.

With another year under my belt with this little blog, there have been many photos posted on here and on Instagram. But, let’s face it, you only see the best of the best (well, the best of a bad bunch) because I want you to see everything in a not-so disgusting light. So when I am eventually being normal you get to see that side of me. I thought it would be HI-larious of me to share some outtakes of the year. To be honest, you see a real serious side of me in my blog posts but truth be told, I’m never happier than sounding/looking like an idiot, making jokes and generally just having a LOL a minute at myself. So, let’s have a good ol’ laugh at my expense, seeing as it’s the season of goodwill and all that.

As I currently sit getting lovedrunk on a tub of celebrations it’s got me thinking about how far this blog has come this year. 2016 was the year I really wanted to ramp up the blog. And whilst I’m no pro-blogger (& slightly fell off that wagon in August / September) I know hand on heart I worked very hard to get to a point where I feel the content I’m creating is where I want to be. I’ve spoken a lot this year about doing “my own thing” and finding my own style, which I really honed the last few months of this year. People compliment me on my Instagram and how it doesn’t fit the mould and I really like that.  I think we can all agree that sometimes you need your ego feeding (even if it is just a tiny compliment like that) to make you feel like you are achieving some sort of success.

    AM I ADULTING #3 | QUEENBEADY

(Firstly, oops. This post was meant to be posted last week to meet my “weekly deadline” – but hey, I was never good at sticking those anyway. So enjoy.)

Last night I caved (FYI this was a week today.) I had caved in after 12 hours of sheer pain where I keeled over every time I moved a muscle. My period pains had just go too much. #LiveTweetYourPeriod and all that shit. I decided in a moments hurry that I needed a bath and an aspirin quick sharp (how adulty does that sound?) So, I ran this bath with all my radox goodies and sank in to a warm tub that didn’t scold me (I’d finally mastered the right bath water temperature. Adulting never looked so good, right?)

If I’m sat upright on a sofa, watching TV, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will fall asleep at the most ridiculous times of day. And I can also put a huge wager on the fact that if I get in to bed to go to sleep at night, I will lay they for quite some time, tossing and turning until I manage to actually fall asleep. It’s what we call  on this day and age, “sods law.” My life pretty much consists of ironic things like this each day. LOL for me.

I look at my most recent blog shoots and think, “bloody hell, these are good.” It sounds so terribly ostentatious of me, but I’m genuinely 100% happy with the direction my blog is taking. I work with two very talented photographers (hey, who else but Matt wouldn’t mind heading down a stinky alley way and tunnel to take some grimy shots like this?) who share a similar vision of what I want my blog and content to be all about. I’m done with the white backgrounds and stark bright photos, because life can’t always be that shiny canvas that I see everyday, and for me it’s just not possible. I bow down to those who can emulate that every single day but for me, it would be too tiring.
