  • THE “IT” RESTAURANT TO BE SEEN IN: THE IVY, LEEDS | QUEENBEADY

THE “IT” RESTAURANT TO BE SEEN IN: THE IVY, LEEDS | QUEENBEADY

Our meal was provided to us free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

This place is now the “IT” restaurant to be seen in. The Ivy Leeds. It’s has brought a slice of the famous London restaurant scene up here to the North and there’s plenty more popping up left, right and centre. It begs the question – is it loosing it’s exclusivity? But fear not, the moment you walk in to the restaurant you are met by warm hostesses to check you in and lead you through the closed-door in to a festival of colour and 1920’s elegance that is the décor of this place. If anything, this place is a feast on the eyes! We hoped the food would also follow suit.

BAR & GRILL AT THE DAKOTA DELUXE, LEEDS | QUEENBEADY

When we had the pleasure of staying at the Dakota Deluxe Leeds last month (you can read my review here) we were also treated to a wonderful meal at their very own signature restaurant, the Bar & Grill which is situated inside the hotel. They have their very own bar, which is oh-so very elegant and was already quite busy at 8.30pm, so we decided to skip pre-dinner drinks and head straight downstairs to the cosy, speak-easy style restaurant in the cellar.

MARCOS ITALIAN, LEEDS REVIEW | QUEENBEADY

    MARCOS ITALIAN LEEDS

Just under two weeks ago we stepped foot inside the entrance of Marco’s Italian, or, “Marco Pierre White New York Italian” to be exact. The home city of Pierre-White himself it only seems fitting to open up a restaurant here in Leeds for the local’s to enjoy. It’s location is a little bit out-of-the-way if you didn’t know it was there and is attached to the Ibis Style’s hotel just need Leeds Direct Arena so it’s great for catching a bite to eat if you are seeing a show or concert. I’ve always been a little sceptical of hotel restaurants but luckily, the Firelake at the Radisson Blu changed my mind on that earlier on this year. When I was invited I had completely forgot that I had already been to the same chain in Oxford, so I was hoping this visit would blow me away and be a little more memorable!

AIN’T NO PARTY LIKE A NORTHERN BLOC ICE CREAM PARTY | QUEENBEADY

    ice cream waffles northern bloc

Yep, I know it’s reminiscent of a certain S Club 7 song but it had to be done. When life throws you Northern Bloc Ice Cream be sure to make crazy, incredibly, insta-worthy deserts. Even if it is just for the ‘gram. But really, this wasn’t just for the feed, this was in aid of finding something scrummy to fill our tummies one night when we wanted something sweet to eat. So, an incredible stack of waffles plus strawberry meringue ice cream and fruit was made and it was devoured in about 60 seconds flat when Mr C & I got our forks in to them.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

After climbing up 4 flights of stairs, and thoroughly wishing we had hopped in the lift at the Victoria Gate shopping centre, when we reached the top it was safe to say I was in awe of the intricate, wooden ceiling that hung above us that it gave me a moment to catch my breath back. On a blustery Saturday, we had been invited to Issho Restaurant to experience a modern Japanese twist on Brunch I was more than ready for a glass of bubbles to quench my thirst after fearing my asthma had reared it’s ugly head again.
