3 WAYS I’VE STYLED MY MAXWELL SCOTT BAG FOR THE OFFICE

My Atessa Bag from Maxwell Scott has been gifted – 3 ways I’ve styled my Maxwell Scott Bag for the office.

I’ve tried holding off delving too far in to my autumn winter wardrobe this year. One, because I wasn’t quite ready to stop wearing my Birkenstocks just yet and two, because I have a winter sun holiday very soon & the crossover of seasonal style just wasn’t working out for me. However, over the last two weeks I’ve had to stick my neck out on the line and accept a slight defeat, it was time to roll out the roll necks, suck everything in to pairs of tights and even get the winter boots out. Here’s 3 ways I’ve styled my Maxwell Scott bag for the office.

A NON-MINIMALISTS STYLE GUIDE TO MINIMALISM

At the grand old age of 29, I am yet to fully embrace a signature style. I know, I know, it seems silly to not really know exactly what my style is but usually my off-duty look can be jeans, a tee and vans but there are the times I need to make an effort and pulling an outfit together can become quite the chore when you’re not entirely sure what suits you and what doesn’t. I crave the wardrobe of Erica Davies – the bold prints and the clashing of them, the floaty dresses and the perfectly quaffed hair make me go all *heart eye emoji* but I often wish I could pull off a more, minimalistic chic look like Lizzy or Ropes of Holland. Their style is something out of a fashion spread and I can’t help but envy how they pull it off. So, for a gal who doesn’t quite know what she wants from her wardrobe here is a non-minimalists style guide to minimalism!

Ah alas, the UK has been hit with something that actually resembles a summer over the last month or so. We actually now know what that big, bright ball of gas is capable of.  (The answer is that it burns us little Brits to a crisp.)

And, with a hot summer comes a summer wardrobe. Yes, that means the big woolly jumpers have been put in to hibernation for the foreseeable future and out comes anything that allows our body to breath in this hot, hot heat! I’ll be honest, I’ve always loved the Autumn/Winter dressing season much more, our coats give us warm, winter hugs when we are cold, we don’t have to shave our pasty legs because our jeans keep us on lock down, and with winter layers, it gives us that option to keep warm or cool down; the possibilities are endless.

But I’m afraid this summer, our body temperature gages are just simply set at “boiling” regardless of whether we are wearing a swimming cozzie, shorts and a t-shirt or a little dress. So, with the best will in the world I’m desperately trying to spice up my summer wardrobe and I’m actually beginning to feel like I’m on to something now my body is slowly climatizing to the incessant heat and I’ve managed to find 4 style trends that I am loving this summer (that don’t make me melt like “Tobe-Le-Rone on the beach in Malta!)

Without sounding too braggy, it’s safe to say that 2017 is going to be a hard year to beat. I feel like I’m so raised after such a brilliant 365 days that surely it can’t get any better? They often say that the higher the fall, the greater the hurt. Well, I’m determined not to let that happen. And try as I might, 2018 will hopefully be just as good year as the previous. If not better! By the power invested in me and these 9 promises I’ve made to myself, I’m going to (try) live my best life this year…

I wanted to make sure I got one of these posts out before the end of the year. I’m cutting it a little fine, I know. But when I was scrolling through these photos (my last shoot with Matt of 2017) I realised just how far I have come in a mere 365 days. I really thought that 2017 had passed me by as an uneventful year, when really it was possibly the start of something very special. My journey to finding both self-confidence and self acceptance. Two things that have seen me blossom as a more well-rounded human being. Sounds corny really, doesn’t it? However, it’s so easy to look at someone’s blog or social media and think they have it all, but sometimes, deep down it isn’t always as it seems. Luckily, towards the back-end of this year I became truly happy and more accepting of myself and my fate. Which saw me have one of my most successful years to date.
