    I really do love being outdoors and getting out and about to stretch the ol’ legs. We started taking our dog on walks that are a little bit further afield than on our doorstep. It means we get to see scenery that we don’t normally see on our usual routes, all the while we get some fresh air and our little doggo gets to have a whale of a time in the process. It is so nice to explore our beloved Yorkshire in depth this way.     Mother’s Day is less than a week away and we all know that time is ticking to make your final preparations to make your Mum feel amazing on the day that is dedicated to her.     Our local village has become a thriving little place to be. Boston Spa was always considered as either for the rich and stuffy, or the working class. There was no in between. With the demise of local eateries and a few pubs, our village began to look a little desolate. Fast forward a few years later and the high street is now filled with gorgeous new spots where I can a) get my coffee fix and b) EAT ALL THE BRUNCH. Because we all know how much I love brunch. Regeneration is fabulous thing and we are reaping the benefits because that is where Tom Foolery comes in.

    This Christmas both Mr C & I managed to wangle the full week off. HALLELOOOO. That means a full week of indulging in all things fine (and terribly unhealthy) whilst enjoying one another’s company (which has been divine if I may say so myself.) So naturally, when we were invited to spend a tab of £50 at Jamie’s Italian in Leeds this week we of course said yes. What can I say, we just enjoy food so much. So for anyone who doesn’t know, Jamie’s Italian was founded by Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, back in 2008, with the first restaurant in Oxford. Now they have more than 60 restaurants worldwide with even more in the pipeline.

    Okay, so the title is pretty much the biggest spoiler alert you could have when it comes to blog post spoilers but I do hope that my in depth account is one that still encourages you to go try it out yourself, too. I was recently invited to Angelica’s, which is situated at the top of the Trinity Centre in the centre of Leeds, to review their short yet tantalising menu. We slipped straight up in the lift to the 6th floor to be greeted by the pleasant staff and the panoramic views of Leeds through the floor to ceiling windows. The perfect spot for a mid-afternoon, post-shopping cocktail. I armed myself with an Angelica’s Autumn Punch which is vodka, fraise de bois, fraise liquor, raspberries and topped with prosecco. The perfectly zingy drink was all I was expecting and more. James chose the Yorkshire Lager, which is in fact brewed in a little village called Cropton. For something that was more like a pale ale, it was actually really tasty, something that really surprised me.
