If you’re struggling to choose your next travel destination, look no further than Tuscany. Combining rich culture with a warm climate, delicious cuisine and stunning natural landscapes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this region of Italy.

With that in mind, here are just four reasons why you should scout out a deal for a flight to Italy!

The Food

Italian cuisine is considered one of the world’s most popular cuisines – and it’s not difficult to see why. From pizza to pasta to gelato (my absolute favourite treat!), there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy. As such, if you’re planning a trip to Tuscany, your taste buds are sure to be in for a treat, especially if you try traditional Tuscan food such as:

  •  Crostini Toscani (Pate)
  • Panzanella (Tomato and onion based salad)
  • Potato Tortelli
  • Fettunta (Tuscan Bruschetta)

The Wine

Tuscan wine is famous worldwide, which means you’ve likely already enjoyed some of the delicious wines produced within this region, whether you’re a fan of red, white or sparkling wine. However, you can find out more about the history of Tuscan wine and wine production by visiting the Tempranillo Wine Festival in Tuscany. Not only is this a great event to participate in, but it also gives you the perfect excuse to indulge in a tipple or two!

The Weather

Another reason why so many tourists flock to Tuscany is due to the warm weather and pleasant climate. There’s very little rain in this region during the summer months, which means that you’ll be able to spend as much time outdoors as possible, whether you’re visiting the beach, a vineyard or the Apuan Alps (a mountain range). This means it is the perfect holiday destination for travellers with a keen sense of adventure (and a desire to get a fantastic tan).

The History

When looking to find out more about Italian history, many people would opt to visit Rome. After all, it’s the country’s capital and home to many famous landmarks, such as the Colosseum, Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. However, history lovers will also have a fantastic time in Tuscany. For example, you could visit the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa or the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. In addition to this, there are plenty of small, historical villages to explore.

Top Tips For Your Trip To Tuscany

  • Book in advance to get better deals for flights, hotels and attractions.
  • Put together a bucket list of things you’d like to do or see in Tuscany, including any restaurants you’d like to visit.
  • Be open to trying new things when travelling.
  • Turn your phone off so that you’re living in the moment and not enjoying the region through your phone screen.
  • Pack well for the weather and read weather reports ahead of time.
  • Wear SPF daily, preventing sunburn and ensuring that you stay safe in the sun.
  • Ask locals for recommendations of things to do or see so that you can save money, avoid tourist traps and stay off the beaten path.

There is one thing I am certain of, and that is that Italy is a magical place for so many reasons!
