Let’s face it, the state of affairs at the moment mean we all need a little pick me up, so if you are able to send a small gift someones way it would probably mean the world.
As a newly expectant Mum it’s also imperative that I look after my own mental well-being as I grow this tiny little human, and the gestures don’t have to be big at all to make sure I’m looking after myself with care.
If you’ve been following our fertility/pregnancy journey, you will have seen that I’ve just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes so now more than ever I need to start looking after myself better.
Even if you’re not pregnant, you might want to try something on this list during World Well-being Week to make sure you are giving yourself the space to feel calm and relaxed.
Here’s a short list of things you can do to lift your spirits during World Well-being Week
- Use your lunch breaks wisely, do something fun to break up your day
- Buy yourself an ice-cream during this hot weather
- Buy a book from a local charity shop & go to a quiet spot and read
- Plan your next holiday destination
- Journal your days thoughts and feelings
- Send yourself some flowers
- Meet a friend for coffee
- Take a walk in nature – let mother earth restore your soul
- Find a peaceful spot and unwind by meditating
- Listen to your favourite podcast
- Do some colouring in (it’s amazing how your mind can just forget everything else)
- Call someone you love
- Go on that solo date you’ve been dying to do
- Work on a healthier, more balance diet to recharge your energy levels
- Head to the beach or some form of water, it’s calming
- Close your eyes and just listen to birdsong
- Make sure you get your vitamin d fix
- Drink plenty of water
- Learn a new hobby
- Book a show, gig or festival so you have something to look forward to
- Write a gratitude list each day
- Start gardening – it’s heavenly
- Recharge your crystals in the sunshine or evenings moonlight
- Binge your favourite Netflix show
- Go for an after work drink in a beer garden
- Create a memory box
- Put on some music and just dance around your home – release those endorphins
- Do something you have been putting off so you don’t have to think about it anymore
- Spend time with animals – get that Oxycontin fix!
- Treat yourself to a relaxing facial or massage to rest those weary muscles
- Write someone a letter, or even better, write yourself a letter to future you
- Get in your car and drive with no destination in mind – let the road take you somewhere
- Have a social media cleanse
- Clear out your wardrobes and have a big Vinted/eBay/Charity shop spree
- Dine al fresco in this summer heat
- Try a new recipe
- Give someone you love a really big hug
- Treat yourself to an early night and get some rest
- Look at your finances and get them in order so it doesn’t give you any unnecessary stress
