JAMAICA PHOTO DIARY | QUEENBEADY

Jamaica Photo Diary
Dress ASOS
I wrote a while ago about how it’s okay to do absolutely nothing on holiday. At that point I was scrambling to make myself feel better for the fact I’d spent a week attached to a sunbed (rather than the bedroom because the room smelt hideous the whole time!) I was shivering in 30 degree heat and couldn’t be at least 5 m away from a functioning toilet (‘cos boy did I need to be!) All in all, I was not a happy bunny that I’d been resigned to staying at the hotel (& one that wasn’t particularly good at that!) and I so desperately wanted to get out and about. But fast forward nearly two years and we’ve just returned from a 7 night stay on the beautiful island of Jamaica and I will let you in on a little secret… We didn’t step foot out of the resort.
And, because of that I have a photo heavy Jamaica Photo Diary for you!

There’s a common theme within the younger generation that if you don’t get out and explore then what an earth are you travelling for if you don’t explore that big wide world. I have often been judgemental too. But by Christ, those 7 blissful nights and 8 beautiful days spent on the beach have been divine and my body is thanking me for it (okay, maybe not the plane flu I’m currently nursing.)
We spent a week drinking cocktails, reading plenty of books (and getting very lost in them!), paddle boarding, kayaking and eating ALL THE JERK CHICKEN!

We stayed at the Secrets St. James Resort in Montego Bay which is part of the Tui A La Carte collection which meant we felt like royalty the whole time thanks to private taxi transfers, gourmet dining and a huge suite complete with a jacuzzi bath!
Did I really have to come home? At least they have Red Stripe in our local Morrisons to feel like we are still there!
Have you been anywhere where you’ve just completely switched off?

This sounds and looks like complete bliss! I too want to explore when I go places but sometimes you just need a full week of doing absolutely nothing. I wish I had the money to go. I need sun! Glad you had an amazing time x

Ahhh it looks so lovely! Yes, not quite as exotic but we went to a spa hotel in Crete a couple of years ago and hardly moved let alone left the place! Complete shut-down is amazing sometimes x

When I went to Gran Canaria last December I really felt as though I disconnected a bit and it was blissful … I’m looking forward to doing more of that this year too I hope!!!
