WHAT I WEAR FOR SLOW + STEADY OUTDOOR ADVENTURES* | QUEENBEADY

I have two very distinct styles. One where I feel like I’m “put together” and like to channel the likes of Erica Davies, Lizzy Hadfield et al. And, then there’s one where I am heading on outdoor pursuits and when I’m on the farm. It’s an eclectic mix, but a balance I like to try to get right. We’ve recently returned from a weekend break in the Peak District with Sykes Cottages, which not only meant cosy cottage vibes but plenty of outdoorsy-ness too. Despite the sunshine being on our side, it was that blisteringly cold weather that you only experience in the Winter here. So, that means wearing warm, essential items to keep as tucked up as possible.

You’ll see that I am wearing jeans here at Monsal Head. I find that I can still look stylish and be comfortable (providing they’re slightly elasticated and allow room for movement.) This pair are from Topshop and are super for days out like this, but if you’re looking for an even comfier alternative, why not try a pair of women’s joggers instead. If you do decide to layer up, I would always suggest a pair of waterproof trousers to go over cotton joggers as well for when you come across any inclement weather. (I found some here for ยฃ12.50!)

My Trespass jacket has become one of my all-time favourite coats. I was kindly sent this jacket last year and it’s lasted me so well – there’s definitely plenty of years left in it for adventures like this one. The beauty of theย Down jacket is that they are insulated with a combination of down and duck feather filling – perfect for keeping those wintry chills at bay. It came in very useful this weekend!

Underneath I wore a thick cable knit jumper and a little vest top underneath as an extra layer. You can never have too many!

I made a little buy the other week and bought the Gun Metal Longchamp backpack. I’d originally bought this for our little French Adventure in June but soon realised there was much more of a need for it now rather than later. It is the perfect size for popping in my camera (plus two extras lenses!), my phone, purse and a pair of gloves and scarf. Not bad for a fold up bag really? Plus, the adjustable straps make it a brilliant little bag for long walks too.

As I knew we were heading out for a slow and steady walk and not pounding up steep Peaks, I wore my Moda in Pelle Colina boots. I know they aren’t exactly “proper walking boots” but it they are comfy and bedded in that I have absolutely no problems when I wear them for long periods of time. They are my old faithful’s and since I was gifted them nearly two years ago, they’ve hardly left my feet.

Let me know if you’ve found any bargain outdoor-wear recently! I need to expand my ever growing wardrobe.

Now you’ve said it, your style is SO much like Erica Davies! I have quite an eclectic mix of styles too depending on what I’m doing/the weather and I like having so much variety in my wardrobe.

So relatable. Like you, plus being a mum, I have wardrobe/outfits for all eventualities! It’s my excuse for having two wardrobes full of clothes and I’m sticking to it! Haha!
I love the Trespass jacket. My white Superdry coat although so warm, has not been a practical colour choice over the last three years, so I could do with a trusty replacement!

Love these pictures and views though. Stunning. ๐Ÿ™‚

Loving the Longchamp backpack. I’ve got one their handbags, but as I use it every day it really needs replacing!

I love the Longchamp bags! They’re too cute and so versatile! What I really need in my life is proper fitting jeans, they’re like trying to find the holy grail it seems!
