As a young teenager I’d spend many a weekend buying myself a £1 day rover to Monks Cross Shopping Park so I could browse all the shops. Sadly, that would be with very little money, but the £5 my mum would give me would always cover a Maccy D’s burger and some bits and bobs from Claire’s Accessories to fulfil my ever-growing shopping addiction. (Clearly I started from a young age.) As I’ve watched some shops come and go, the likes of Topshop and New Look and more have always been permanent fixtures and with the arrival of H&M and Primark it has gotten even more interesting over the last few years. So, when I was asked to take part in the #MonksCrossStyleHacks campaign you can bet your bottom dollar I was on board!

My challenge was to create two looks, one day outfit and one for the evening with a budget of £250 and boy was a I ready for a challenge. I’ll admit, I shop from the comfort of my own sofa. A lot. So getting out and about around the shops really helped me see the look I wanted to go for. Anyone who knows me, knows that my wardrobe consists of about 89% of slogan tee’s. I love that they have made a massive comeback in recent times and this “Lucky” tee from New Look (£7.99) was on my hit list to pair up with these bright red boots from Primark (which are a dream at only £14 FYI !) Red is such a great colour to make an outfit stand out and it’s everywhere now. I discovered about two years ago that it was a colour that I loved and actually suited me and have run with it ever since.

I knew I didn’t want to be too formal, but I absolutely adore these checked jackets that are making massive waves on the high street. This one from New Look (£39.99) was a fabulous option that does not compromise on quality. To make sure my outfit remained chic yet informal I added a pair of Topshop jeans which are always a big winner for fit and comfort and priced at £40, they are a little bit more expensive but you know you are going to get the quality that lasts longer than other high street brands.

Overall I loved this outfit when I put it together. It’s something I’d wear to work, out for lunch with a friend or a shopping trip (even an early doors dinner!) and it is so very me. I added my own bag and watch, so the outfit came to a total of £101.98.

What do you think of my day time look?

Now, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say this, I FRICKING LOVE THIS OUTFIT. PERIOD. As much as this shaggy coat is the brashest coat I’ve ever come across, boy does it make a statement (and turn heads!) I’ve been dying to get my hands on a coat like this for some time and this little (or should I say extravagant) jacket from H&M came in at £39.99. I’ll be keeping very warm in this, and now the weathers turning I know I’ll be reaching for it on several occasions.

You know that cosmic print dress everyone’s been raving about from M&S? Well, ya bae Bee has only gone and found a dupe version from £17.99 (also H&M!) and it is such a flattering fit. With long sleeves, it makes it the perfect AW17/18 piece for going out to dinner or on a night out. I know for a fact this dress will fly off rails when people realise what an absolute bargain it is. I know this is already going to be my Christmas Party outfit! I then paired with these cute, Chelsea boots (you can never have too many pairs!) from TK Maxx (£29.99)

It’s safe to say that being able to pull off a full, evening look together for only £87.97 is an absolute steal, don’t you think?

Would you wear this outfit?

After spending plenty of hours of quality, girl time at Monks Cross Shopping Park with my Mum & Sister I came away with some amazing Autumn/Winter pieces for my wardrobe and I didn’t have to worry about getting a parking ticket because it’s free to park!

I adore those red boots and the check jacket! Totally agree about Topshop jeans, they’re a great investment! The H&M dress is such a dream too. Definitely entering this, I love Monks Cross for shopping, it’s quite close to where my Grandma lives so I’m forever using that as an excuse to pop over for a shop!

Fab outfits, and what a brill opportunity to spend £250 on anything! That so rarely happens in life that you buy whole outfits all together (well for me anyway!) The shopping centre in Plymouth is also pretty great with all the stores you would need, so whenever I go into town, it’s always where I head first! Alice xxx

Aww Bee, I totally love your outfits! I really adore the last one, it suits you and you look so chic! I envy everyone who can shop online, it never fits me when it arrives! I prefer the overall shopping experience when I go out as I always make a day out of it and go for lunch too. Obviously I also like the first outfit, massive fan of the blazer/tee combo myself.
