THE SNUGGLEDOWN CHALLENGE RESULTS | QUEENBEADY

So, it’s been three weeks since I first popped my spanking, brand new duvet on my bed from Snuggledown. It’s safe to say, it’s the most luxurious duvet we have ever owned and it has without a doubt encouraged us to take a leap of faith and purchase more “luxury” products off the back of it. We received the 10.5 tog duvet to test out whether our sleep improved based on the science behind it’s design.

It was pretty cold when we first put our new duvet on, my only regret was that we hadn’t bought a brand new set of covers to make it feel even more of an experience. But January happened. Joyous. So we sufficed with our stripey grey/blue covers and set to it, testing it out.

The first few nights were glorious. It was unbelievably cosy and we literally named bed time, “snuggle time” (see what we did there? Aren’t I just a big ball of cheese?) I’d put on my sleep mask each night and drift off with no worries or cares in the world.

I’d wake up feeling like a shiny, happier and more well-slept version of myself. In fact, I think I was quite pleasant for the most part (as my husband would most probably agree.) Nothing, seemingly, could get me down.

Then work happened. Five days later work got a little more stressful, the temperatures rose a little meaning our house became a green house once more and then we struggled.

Sadly, with all these little nuances we had to take the duvet off and replace it with our usual cheap & thin duvet to make it a little less, shall we say, sweaty. It was only off for a few days before we reached the weekend. When stress levels were a little lower and the cold returned.

A big part of the challenge was to incorporate exercise in to our daily routine to see if it helped. We brought the exercise bike out after it had been resigned to the closet whilst the Christmas tree took it’s place.

Each night I would bike for 30 minutes straight (you can imagine the huffing and the puffing that would then come from my poor respiratory system. Trust me. It ain’t pretty.)

But, when you start a fitness regime you can almost instantly feel those happy endorphin’s rush through your body and turn you in to a more energetic, happier person in the making. Things don’t ache as much, you feel more switched on and then you also have a more positive outlook on life. Exercise is great. (Although you will not hear me say that on my last 5km!)

Getting to sleep again started to become a lot easier. My mind wasn’t whirring with negative thoughts or having anxiety thinking about work all night. I felt way more zen so we introduced the duvet back in to the bedroom and I once again started to sleep like a log.

We had a great experience with the Snuggledown duvet. If I could have my time I may have picked a slightly lower tog rating with our house turning in to a sauna (the joys of having a boiler in the bedroom) – You cannot fault the quality of the duvets, it genuinely felt like we are jumping in to a hotel bed every night.

I mean, who wouldn’t enjoy that?

This duvet definitely sounds amazing – if I can convince my fiance that we need it, I’ll opt for a lower tog rating as I get really hot at night, even with our thin mattress on! x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

Oh Aimee, it really feels like we are in a hotel, it’s that luxurious. I would definitely advise a lower tog rating! Our house is like a sauna though so that will have something to do with it!
