At last. I’m sure you can understand my absolute, utter joy in the fact that I now have an Instagram Husband. It finally happened after six years, my husband can now pick up a camera and take photos of me, exactly how I want him to. #HumbleBrag. You may have read this post back in June where I shared my concern for other bloggers who had respective other halves that just didn’t have the will when it came to taking blog photos for us. Well, with a little bit of coaching (and subtle hinting) Mr C went and bought me a 55-250mm lens for my Canon 100D this Christmas (which some of you have already asked me about here) and it has seriously taken our photography skills up another level (or even ten!)
Despite having a slightly crumpled up t-shirt (sorry Mum, I’ll be sure to use an iron next time) we went for a dog walk nearby and managed to get some gorgeous woodland shots of this Celuu Cardigan. I haven’t owned a cardigan in a long, long, long time because I thought they were super unflattering on my curvy, size 12 frame. Except this one kinda just fits perfectly and did I mention how bloody cosy it is? It’s been the perfect winter warmer for those frosty days.
As we enter the New Year I’ve decided to take a more “minimalist” approach to my wardrobe rather than “materialistic” and owning pretty much all of ASOS for a change. I am a self confessed clothes hoarder, with a huge double wardrobe and 2 clothes rails filled with clothes. Just after Christmas I managed to fill 3 bags full and I still haven’t scratched the surface one bit. So over the next few weeks I’m going to get really tough with myself. I’m my own worst enemy because I won’t get rid of the top that I wore when James asked me to marry him, I hold an emotional attachment to some bits and pieces and it really doesn’t bode well for condensing my ‘drobe. At all.
I know a lot of people threw ideas at me, such as put your coat hangers all one way and when you have worn something turn the coat hanger the other way. Then, after 3 months, see what you haven’t turned round and send those babies to the charity shop. Or get totally honest with yourself AND someone else? Try everything on and decide what suits you and what seriously doesn’t. The second opinion might help make you more ruthless.
Either way, I’m excited to try and stream line everything. It will make my life so much easier and the house will look less cluttered without my clothes being piled everywhere. I want to try and keep classic pieces that I will where time and time again and haven’t just been bought because of a phase or a seasonal trend because 9 times out of 10, none of it actually really suits me.
