CELEBRATING YORKSHIRE DAY | QUEENBEADY

BED GURU YORKSHIRE DAY

It’s the 1st of August which means one thing & one thing only. IT’S YORKSHIRE DAY BISHES! I’m a proud Notherner and always have been, but I’m even more prouder that I have been born and bred in the most picturesque County of them all, Yorkshire. Bed Guru asked me to get snapping with a brand new Instax Polaroid to capture some of my favourite spots in & around Yorkshire so this last week I’ve been a busy Bee collecting some perfect polaroids for the #MyYorkshirePhoto campaign!

Living in the “Golden Triangle” I don’t have to look too far from my doorstep to find areas of natural beauty. Located between Leeds, Harrogate & York (my hometown) we are set by the River Wharfe. We have the weir that provides a salmon step for the fish. In sunnier climates and low tides, locals can enjoy a hot day, dipping their toes in the river. Walk all the way from Jack Daw Crag and down the cliff’s river footpath to reach this blissful stop. Along the way you’ll find caves, hidden nooks and stone carvings from the war. There’s something so special about our part of town that nothing else quite compares. Always have a camera on hand because there is always something super photogenic to capture.

Whilst I’m a “York Bird” through and through after being born & bred, I have moved over to the LS postcode and find myself regularly haunting Leeds on a regular basis, be it a days shopping, brunching with my babes or heading to a local blog event I’m often taking a bus to & from the city centre. There’s something so quirky about Leeds offering a really cool & alternative vibe to it’s more sophisticated siblings of York & Harrogate. That’s not to say you can’t grab a bit of luxury in Leeds. Home to one of the few Harvey Nichols, the Victoria Quarter offers you luxury shopping at it’s finest. This arcade has some seriously gorgeous architecture that I just had to feature it in my polaroid snaps.

And whilst the bright lights of LDN town can sometimes lure me in, there’s nothing like having the city and countryside working effortlessly side by side and I’m so proud to be classed as “Yorkshire Blogger” – I even wrote about it here. I never feel like I have to compromise here in Yorkshire. There is no wonder that we have a whole day dedicated to this glorious county! From the rolling hills of Otley, to a Betty’s afternoon tea or even a day at one of our many theme parks, Yorkshire quite literally covers everything for everyone.

Yorkshire is really great for that mix of city/countryside. I don’t live in as pretty a bit of it as you do but I’m still glad I live in Yorkshire 🙂
