MY HEART BREAKS | QUEENBEADY

IMG_1439

Heading to bed last night my mind was spinning round in circles after hearing the news of the devastating attack on the people of Nice, my heart breaks. Only 4 or 5 days ago I was enjoying the warm heat coupled with the sea breeze on the South of France. Walking up and down the Promenade de Anglais was something that happened numerous times a day. Smiling faces of the locals and those travellers, passers by who were enjoying their holidays. You don’t always catch their faces or learn their stories, they could be the ones who have passed away or lost loved ones last night. An atrocious act happened yesterday evening, ironically on Bastille Day, the day where France celebrated their freedom, and stole 84 people’s lives (and sadly still counting.) My thoughts, love and prayers are currently been sent in droves to France right now and I hope my readers will join me in that. I was due to post a number of posts about my time in Nice, which I am going to postpone over the next couple of days as it just does not feel right. However, I do not want people to forget what a beautiful place Nice is and I will champion the ever so chic town all I can in the coming weeks. Hug your loved ones, kiss each other goodnight and remember to tell those you care about that you love them. It’s a cruel, cruel world, what they think will divide us, will only make us stronger. #ViveLaFrance.

Thank you Sophie. Short and sweet, as I really cannot muster the words anymore clearer than that. I’m so sad, so very sad.

Honestly Aimee, every time I read or hear something it shocks me to the core again. To think only a few days ago I was walking those streets and enjoying a break there. I am honestly devastated.

It feel like it’s genuinely one horrible atrocity after another at the moment and this is yet another horrific event to add to the ever-growing list. It must be even more appalling knowing you were there just days ago when there was a whole different happier atmosphere. Hugs.

Hey Paula, it really is just awful. Every time the news goes on, I want to turn over but feel it’s my duty to take it all in. Yes, it really brought it home with being there so recently. Scary world!

Such a touching post, this got me so emotional. I just can’t get over all these devastating events that keep happening. I want it to stop but I don’t know how we’re meant to prevent it?
My sister only booked a trip to Nice last week to go at the end of August, she’s no way inclined to postpone her trip or cancel it because she believes the people of Nice and every other town and city these events have happened in need our support and tourism – she’s right. And it is such a beautiful place!
I really look forward to reading your posts anyway 🙂

Oh Tamsyn, I’m sorry! I hope it didn’t get you TOO emotional. I felt I had to write something, but I was appalled by it all, I couldn’t quite string much else together.
Your sister is so right, the last thing they need is no-one going anymore. We gotta keep going!
