For those of you who are long time or regular readers of my blog you’ll know I’ve got an incurable case of wanderlust. It’s funny how now that I’m no longer in the Travel Industry I travel a lot more. With four trips booked this year, one of which took place in March, I’m always looking for new and exciting destinations to get my teeth into, be it soaking up the sun in Mexico, to wandering the streets of Nice, to people watching in Amsterdam, I know I’m at my happiest exploring. The infamous Route 66 turns a grand old age of 90 this year and eShores is celebrating with various bloggers by sending them a pack of goodies to keep them occupied on a long road trip!
Route 66 is a vast road between Chicago & LA. Measuring up to a whopping 2448 miles of fabulous sights and sounds between two very different destinations. America has always been high on my travel hit list, I’d love to hire a mustang (in bright pink or turquoise of course!) and explore every inch of the land. You see, each region or area has something unique and diverse about making it feel like you are visiting a different country each time. Getting to the beaches in California would be amazing, I mean I was totally obsessed with 90210 so I’d have to hang out there at some point wouldn’t I? From the amazing food you’d find in New Mexico or Missouri, gosh I’m a sucker for BBQ meat and oh-my-god I think my mind has just been blown by the world’s largest rocking chair? To the cadillac ranch in Texas (I mean, the car of dreams, am I right?) I’m pretty sure you could spend weeks on end, even months, trawling this very long road.
eShores.co.uk kindly provided me with a little kit with a coffee flask, car freshener, portable phone charger, water bottle and some fun travel trivia quizzes to keep me entertained, be it on a long journey travelling the US or a trip a little closer to home. It got me thinking about some of the other places I’d love to travel to, too. As I mentioned Route 66 on the West Coast, I’d actually adore travelling the East Coast too. It’s always been a dream of mine to see the leaves in Fall around Boston. It looks so beautiful and heck, I wanna do some shopping in NYC too! Whilst the glitz and glamour of California on the West is undeniable, there’s something very charming about the East, rustic, I think you might use to describe it. I’d love to visit someday & tick that experience off my bucket list.
I love being near a beach or by the sea. It’s probably where I peak on the happiness levels. Plonk me in the most basic apartment with a sea view right on my doorstep and I’d love you forever. There’s nothing in this world that I find more therapeutic than sitting on a balcony, drinking an ice cold beer, watching the day go by or the sunset. This could literally apply to anywhere in the world for me. However, Greece is somewhere I am so deeply fond of, one day I’d love to do a little bit of island hopping if I were to a do a trip closer to home. I know it would require some amazing packing skills, thank god for this post! The sun soaked, volcanic islands of Santorini to the lush green islands of Kefalonia in the Ionian. Erm, I think I might have just clicked “book my flight” by accident writing this…
