Okay, okay, let me just clear one thing up. My Quagmire chin cannot be ignored in this post. It’s pretty huge & rather unsightly. But you know what, I rolled my socks up and carried on. I took these photos feeling pretty low, wondering if the pain of jaw would ever go and if my face would ever return to normal. It’s say to say that as I write this it hasn’t been too bad. I completely digress from the post itself and it’s a pretty “androgynous” look from me today that I’m sharing with you. But I want to bestow my inside info that minimalist dressing does not have to cost an absolute fortune.

Minimalist looks can be hard to put together if you don’t have the right wardrobe. Kind of like a butcher without his knives, a photographer with no camera. It just doesn’t work. Plus, minimalism is a pretty expensive area, especially for such basic pieces. With the likes of Cos & ACNE fast becoming a staple store for most I can’t help but wince at the prices of those places (thank god for eBay and DePop!) so how can you really get a staple wardrobe put together without it costing the earth?

My trusty ASOS is somewhere I turn to time and time again (and praise the lord for the £9.95 yearly premium next day delivery option!) it has often got me out of many a pickles in the clothes department. It very rarely lets me down and this white long, tunic style top and white trainers are pieces that I always turn to come rain or shine because they are so versatile.

A black blazer can transform an outfit. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Okay, I’m wearing trainers but even whilst wearing them, just by adding my jacket it instantly says “BOOM! I MEAN BUSINESS BITCHES.” I’ve had this H&M blazer since the dawn of time, I’ve even had my mum sew the lining back in. I just love the length and shape of it that I can’t bear to part with and find another. A trusty blazer will stand the test of time and is one of the main items every woman should have in her wardrobe.

I work in an office with only two other people so most of the time I don’t feel the need to dress up for work but every now and then I like to make some sort of effort and it comes in the form of outfits like this. My blazer was around £10, the top was £8, the trainers were £20 – I’ve created a real classic, on trend outfit that didn’t cost the earth. It really can be done – so don’t think otherwise. My main tip is to shop the sales in a savvy way. Pick up timeless pieces rather than frittering away your money on £3.50 tops from New Look, with the only real reason that it is £3.50 (many mistakes I have learned from this)

I guess it’s only right that a fashion post goes live today too. I have been nominated in the Bloggers Lounge Blog Awards for “BEST FASHION BLOG” and tonight is the night that I find out if I have won or not. There’s some great girls in the category so I’m not pinning my chances of winning so I’m wishing them all the luck in the world. Sadly with it being very busy at work I can’t make the awards ceremony (cos you know, London. Sigh.) so I’ll be tweeting along from home hoping there is lots of instagrams/periscopes to watch. I’ll be so sad to miss out on the night so I hope everyone parties hard for me.

How do you style your office wear? Do you pick up pieces in the sale like me or do you know where I can find some real quality bargains – I’d love to know in the comments below.

I’m in LOVE with this outfit. That shirt is the perfect white T! Also, kind of obsessed with your white sneakers – I like the little kind of wedge on them.

Fab outfit girl, you know me and monochrome outfits! Totally agree about the whole ‘shop savvy in the sales’ – used to buy so many £4 t shirts and never wore a single one…
