La Redoute Christmas Party | QueenBeady

Having been for brunch with Sophie at Ox Club, then on to the #LeedsXmasMeet hosted by Rhianna from Robowecop.com in the afternoon, the first Saturday of December was a pretty hectic one. It was time to finish the day off wonderfully by heading to the La Redoute Blogger Christmas Party, hosted by Laura – the Social Media manager for La Redoute and also a very close blogging buddy over at AForteForFashion.com. To say the day was jam packed would be an understatement but there was no way I was going to miss the event of the year (we’ve crowned this one, the BEST blogging event in Leeds!)

I arrived super early and because I’m a keen bean I helped Laura put out a few sweets before everyone arrived and it also gave me a quick chance to take some photos of the collections that were lining the venue of Lambert’s Yard. For a long time I’ve realised that my shape does not necessarily fit within the realms of Topshop and Miss Selfridge anymore. I’ve become accustomed to seeking out clothes and outfits from different high street stores and online shops to suit my rather curvy figure.

I’ve also come to terms with the fact I’m not getting any younger and it’s time I started to look at places I wouldn’t have to chosen to have shopped at a few moons ago. I’m not talking down and out “Grandma Garments” – but I need something more mature, more sophisticated (oi, I can hear you chortling at the back there!) to adorn my body and wardrobes with. Having browsed the rails of beautiful clothes, it’s clear to see that the cuts of each piece are tailored to a woman that isn’t straight up and down, but should someone of a slimmer build wear it, it would still look great on them too. From elegant pieces that cut just below the knee (like this gorgeous Brigitte Bardot piece that Laura was wearing – BABE!) to the moredaring, playful pieces like this play suit. It’s clear to see, and after searching their website on numerous occassions, there is something for just about everyone.

It was so great to catch up with some of my favourite friends/bloggers and spend quality time with them enjoying a quick sparkling cocktail before I had to hit the road. But I’m told and have seen photographic evidence that the night got even better, with brilliant tunes and a mini photo shoot for everyone involved, it seemed a blast and I’ve said time and time again how sad I was that I had to leave early on in the night.

But, truth be told my legs were weary, my dog required some TLC  and I’d had some bad news that day, so it was best that I headed home otherwise the potent cocktails could have had me crying on the dancefloor all over the beautiful dresses! Now, we wouldn’t want that would we?
