A Supportive Blogging Community | QueenBeady

Lamberts Yard OOTD

I think a lot of the time people really focus on the negative sides of blogging. For me there are a few things I’d change but hey, who am I to say what should and shouldn’t happen within the realms on the blogosphere? It’s brought me some fantastic opportunities such as a trip to Madeira in March 2016, wonderful weekends away and beautiful clothes to wear. I haven’t even got to the part where I gush about the wonderful friends I have managed to make through it. I’m very rarely one for showing my softer side, I am very ”jokey” IRL and some people might feel that I’m very brash and sometimes a little too loud. But that’s me & people just have to accept that.

I like that photo. It was taken by Lucy at LucyEarnshaw.co.uk and it captures me at an event, with my blogging friends having a wonderful time. When I think about blogging and what it has given me and it makes me truly thankful that I kept up with it. You see I’m no good at riding things out.

But, a little birdy may have told you (or should I say I have been tweeting it from the rooftops) that I was recently nominated and made a finalist for ”Best Fashion Blog” with Bloggers Lounge #BLAwards2015, you can vote here (#cheekyplug) and also for the Navabi Curvy Blog Awards, again you can vote for me here (god, I’m so classy!) To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement. Think of all the happiest adjectives in the world I would be them. I even had a little happy cry about it. Silly, I know.

You see I’ve been blogging for 4 and a half years and blogging has changed so dramatically over the years that you’ve constantly got to evolve with the times, but not lose your original focus and passion. My blog is sometimes a little all over the place, probably because I’m very giddy about life and rather than have a set theme, I want to write about whatever takes my fancy. And some of you (and it occurs that actually, a lot of you) actually like my stuff. It’s taken me a few years to realise my self-worth as a blogger and the support has been phenomenal. The tweets of encouragement saying you’ve voted or that you are voting for me has made me ecstatic. You’ll never know the joy it gives me to read those words because quite frankly, we all need a little pat on the back sometimes and it feels like I’ve been given one massive bear hug this week by all of you.

Yes, the blogging world isn’t perfect, but what is? I hope I can say that most of us are just enjoying our time and rolling with the punches because that’s all you can do, right? So when you’re feeling low, why not send a tweet to a blogger you love and tell them why, post a comment on their least unloved post because that will mean the world to them, give the little links a click so someone knows that you are helping, meet that person for coffee who is having a bad time, just be a good person and that is all you need to do. Spread some blogging community love, because hell, we all need it from time to time.

Oh you, Faith if it wasn’t for you putting on that first event and letting me see the world of such a wonderful community I wouldn’t be where I am today. I just thought that we all lived in holes and wrote weird things on the internet before then haha! Thank you so much.

I have a teeny tiny blog but I still feel so grateful for the positivity which has flooded my way from other bloggers – whether that’s a nice comment on a post, a supportive tweet or even a like on Instagram, it’s so lovely to meet so many women who want to big each other up, not cut each other down!

By the way, I’ve voted for your in both competitions – you deserve that bear hug! Good luck.
