You’ll have seen me harping on recently about some of the amazing finds I’ve come across when I went bargain hunting in my local charity shops. We are really lucky as we have a St.Gemma’s Hospice and Martin House both on our doorstep. We also live in quite an affluent area so if you look hard enough you can find plenty of good wears. One of them happened to be this 100% suede shirt from Viyella. I don’t think I could have found anything more on trend if I had have tried.

I love a good rummage at the charity shop. There’s always something that can be bought and given a new lease of life. One mans junk is another man’s treasure and all that. I couldn’t quite believe my luck when I found this baby though. I was actually at the till already paying for what I had found and in the corner of my eye I saw this on the end of a rail. I thought it had been a men’s rail so hadn’t bothered looking any further round the store, but I just had to double check this one. And woe-behold it was a ladies shirt, but in a size 8 (WAAA!) but as it turns out it’s a rather large size 8 and it fits like a glove.

Now, suede on suede can or can’t work, more often the latter, but I decided to be daring and pair it with my suedette skirt I got from New Look back in the summer – I’m surprised it hasn’t featured on the blog yet. Paired with some thick tights and black boots it’s great for a day time date with your girlfriends – I can say I was suitably happy with how the look came together.

Again, I can’t seem to keep away from the brown palette that’s scattered up and down the high street at the moment. It’s so autumnal and it’s time I started embracing the seasonal trends despite not enjoying the darker nights.

Have you found any amazing buys at a local charity shop? Do you shop at charity shops regularly? I’d love to hear from you.

I love swede – that shirt was a great find, I must admit I never seem to find anything when I go to a charity shop – just don’t have the eye for it, wish I did.

I love charity shops in London! You can find great treasures, for literally peanuts. I also like the idea behind it – reusing the clothes that somebody else doesn’t want anymore. Doing something good for the environment, and for a good cause. My favourite charity shop find is a Theory blazer for 10 pounds and a dark blue shirt. You can see it on my recent post -> http://www.caramelsun.com

PS my fav charity shops are in Chelsea and Fulham!

You really can. I don’t mean for it to sound snobbish at all, it’s just you genuinely can find some of the most amazing things if you can open your eyes! I love the fact its for a worthy cause too.
