It’s well & truly Autumn. The nights are drawing in a lot earlier, the leaves are starting to turn and there is a certain chill in the morning air. I’m one of those people that has a love/hate relationship with Autumn. It’s my birthday soon & I love all the celebrations that come in the latter part of the year but the lack of sunshine and daylight is not something that appeases me. There is something good that comes from the cooler months though and it’s the start of a winter wardrobe. It’s kind of like a full refresh of my closet because the big jumpers come out and layers start appearing, there’s things I uncover that I forgot I had.

Aside from this gorgeous black, long-line jacket from Get the Label everything else has been recycled and will be seeing me through another AW season. The staples include a crisp white shirt and a thin great sweatshirt. You can throw them on together or separately and create two very different looks. I’m a big fan of anything that slims me down and normally I try and steer away from long jackets or coats but somehow this Vero Moda jacket is pretty slimming, even over all the layers. I am hoping I can sneak in a few little shopping trips before I have to start Christmas shopping (can you believe how soon that has come around?) but having a look on Get the Label has made shopping from home a lot easier. Simply because it’s all the well-known distinct brands I love but with lot’s of discount too. If you sign up to their emails there’s also a 5% discount code meaning a few more pennies in the bank for when you do start present buying!

But before then I have some exciting days out planned, one of which is to Betty’s for a Lady Champagne Afternoon Tea this coming weekend. I’m taking my husband along for once as I thought it was about time for him to enjoy the finer things in life and experience a proper afternoon tea. It’s normally my sister, family or friends that I take with me so it’ll be great for him to come a long and indulge. I especially can’t wait for their macaroons. The last time I visited Betty’s York was back in January for my Mum’s birthday where we queued to get in, so I’m eager to see what they have in store with this pre-booked experience where you can queue jump! I just need to work on what to wear for such a sophisticated day out.

Now I’ve also nearly finished paying off Mexico I’m already in dire need of another break. It’s time to start planning a little getaway in December. I’m hoping we can head back to our favourite city, Amsterdam as we haven’t been for the last two years. It’s one of those places we found ourselves going to every year so it will be great to head back to the place that we both fell in love with nearly 9 years ago.

And with Autumn on our doorstep it means that Blog Award Season is upon us. So I did something pretty exciting by entering myself for Best Travel Blog / Best Fashion Blog / Best Photography for the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards. I probably don’t even stand a chance but thought it was about time to try and push myself and maybe in the hope that my blog might get acknowledged. After all I have just celebrated my 4th blog birthday & it’s my little baby. I’m proud of my little space on the web so I just hope that you can vote for me when it opens. One day to go full-time with my blog would be a dream so to win something like this would just give me that push to just do it.
